28 Group display stands ready for those booked on today's tour.
It is a lovely day in Dundee.

This #internationalwomensday we recognise the vital roles carried out by women in the RAF. At it's peak in 1943 some 182,000 women were serving in the Women's Auxiliary Air Force, along with 74,000 'Wrens' of the Women's Royal Naval Service and 250,000+ in the Auxiliary Territorial Service (ATS). We are running tours at the end of the month. Get along to bit.ly/43eZaGZ to make a booking to see the most accurately restored Cold War era bunker in the UK!
An air Raid siren. The body is painted blue with red rotors. This consists of a motor in the middle mounted on a base with an enclosure on each side.
A late #SirenSaturday but today it is an actual Siren. This one lives @28group.bsky.social, is working and is allowed to 'voice' as part of a display on the warning system.
This siren was manufactured by Castle Castings.
It was with great sadness that we learned of the passing of Chief Observer Graham ‘Wilf’
Taylor yesterday. He was a great friend to the charity with a huge fund of knowledge about the Royal Observer Corps, NRCs and the RAF that he was always happy to share with us.
Rest in peace Chiefy, duty done.
The radio mast base starting to set!
Today’s work with concrete!
We got this great donation this evening, a print of the original sales brochure for the whole ROC site.
This is the second try at the lettering for our 3d printed maroon trainer and it’s a big improvement on the first!
Paging @angelabarnes.bsky.social !
Back to the drawing board with the vinyl lettering. a) The font should be bold and b) the font on the rocket bodies should be Helvetica. Gavin is just getting used to the xTool Studio software and didn’t notice that every time one creates a text box the font resets to Lato.
A sneak preview of our 3d printed maroon trainer, now with all the lettering applied. The acid test comes tomorrow when we put this alongside the real thing at the bunker!

Thanks @caleydave.bsky.social for finding this interesting newspaper clipping from 1943 looking for ROC plotters.
Just so you know what to expect from us. We are all about nuclear bunkers and the Cold War, but with a streak of whimsy. Here is our charity patron @angelabarnes.bsky.social reading our mascot Milkshake a story…
