Each March, I buy myself an annual book club subscription as a birthday present to myself, meaning I get a gift every month, not just on my birthday. I've just renewed and added an extra 3 month subscription for @biggreenbooks.bsky.social to give away for #buyastrangerabook day.
Thanks - just what the doc ordered.
I know how you feel. I've been really concentrating on getting back into childhood and enjoying life. For example, just going bowling because I can. Life's to be enjoyed, not fill in copious forms and agreements and boringness. Fuck adulting!
I don't use sugar. I've always got the odd sachet in (probably from c1997) for the odd visitor that wants sugar.
I prescribe cheese. Look after yourself and get better soon.
Yep - it's about where the border is drawn - lots of the border lie in water, the river Irwell forming a natural border between the two cities.
Just looked it up - its at Salford Quays but just on the Manchester side in Trafford. Very sneaky.
The studios used to be in Manchester but moved to Salford Quays.
Turn it off and on again.
They're made by Branston but there's no pickle in the, just rich tomato sauce covered beans woth veggie sausages. Like the heinz ones only better.
Branston baked beans with veggie sausages. Very tasty.
The Branston ones were far superior, but no longer available.
We know what emoji the T is and the other repeated emoji is the heart. The most frequent vowel is 'e' so replacing the heart with e and the loving face with t gives --eet-e--t. Then fill in the blanks with non-repeating letters.
I think people get confused and they mean 'ironic'.
Aw, sweetheart.
I'm sure you're a secret Northerner. That's my kind of breakfast, though it'd be more than a single egg.
We did have some fun responding to each others emails but I've got to be serious ever since I was given adult responsibilities.
I work with someone with the same first and surname as me - I've had to add my middle initial to the emails to ensure we don't get each others.
I give up meat for lent. It helps that I'm already a veggie!
I'd much prefer a program that celebrates everyone's unique abilities and values us all. But that doesn't make for good competitive TV. It worries me though that this is another blow to the confidence of the knocked out geniuses.
I think that's the bit that annoys me. If you're testing someone's genius and ranking them, surely it's individual ability. You could be the world's best communicator, but paired with someone that can't process verbal discussion under pressure (eg visual learners and thinkers) means hometime.
🤣 tosser, yes. Great tosser may be pushing it.
Oh crepe! Better make some pancakes.
Agreed. But it's also a genius strategic move - don't memorise everything - go and see what you need to know and learn it to apply that bit. Lateral thinking and all that - I thought that's how I'd have approached the clocks task.
I stand in solidarity - I'm currently doing hospital bullshit.
A close up of the model lineside hut
Here's a close up just for you
Picture showing a lineside hut kit both before as pieces of laser cut wood and after built and painted.
In memory of my Dad on what would have been his birthday, I've done some railway modelling and built a kit of hut. The wood at the front is how it comes and the built hut is in front of the box. Happy birthday old man.
Superb. Who doesn't like a bit of crumpet.
I think Hayu is more USA content. Disney isn't just for kids - there's some great movies and TV series on there.
