The world can be a really scary place sometimes. Iβm glad that there are still rays of sunshine around me that I can look up to for some inspiration.

Looks good to me. Let's see what happens on this. I've reviewed their entire Usage Policy documentation and all help articles in their Help Center page.
That's a first for me. Let's see what their User Safety team says about this.

Hi π Librarian at the Internet Archive here.
Last weekβs announcement that @archive.org is now a Federal Depository Library sparked some great questionsβso we put together a new FAQ to explain what this means (and what it doesnβt). π help.archive.org/help/federal...
One of the people I met in Google SCL Deep Dice is getting anxious over what advice he would follow right now, given that the top of the SERP AI Overview and the AI Overviews within the PAA presents completely different answers.

If you've seen a sudden drop in the total # of URLs in your Google Search Console Core Web Vitals field data report - don't worry about it.
The same trend appears over dozens of sites I've checked. It's a Google thing, not you.
Google Search Central Live Deep Dive Asia Pacific 2025 Invite for July 23-25 - Lawrence Parmisana
Am I too late to the party? π
Two weeks ago I received my invite to Googleβs Search Central Live Deep Dive Asia Pacific 2025 in Bangkok. Google's first-ever Deep Dive format and my first time at a Search Central event.
If anyone has cool food places to suggest, hit me with a message!
don't sleep on your dreams
Give me something to build.
I'm 21 builds away from my target of 52 for the year.
Whatever I build for you, will be given to you, all code & database.
Something you've had in your head for a while. I really want to stress test vibe code building.
Be reasonable.
The LLM/vector database approach for redirects is overkill for most sites.
Great for huge, messy enterprise migrations, but for small to midsize sites, simpler methods like slug matching or basic plugins are faster, cheaper, & easier to QA.
Use the right tool for your siteβs scale!
- Googlebot not needing to crawl URLs based on already known variables like the frequency a page gets updated
- Page content quality to the degree it needs to be updated for the index
Might be useful to collaborate on this with others due to my lack of resources but if anyone is interested, LMK.
@vijaychauhanseo.bsky.social I've already looked at over 60 sites for this and they all follow the same behavior, regardless of industry.
Right now we have a couple of active theories that we're currently looking into:
Google Search Console, Googlebot Desktop Crawl Request HVAC Site 1
Google Search Console, Googlebot Desktop Crawl Request HVAC Site 2
Googlebot daily visits plotted by number of URLs visited over time
@vijaychauhanseo.bsky.social Do you see an initial spike in Googlebot Desktop crawls within the first half of May and a massive drop within the same period?
I've pointed this out somewhere and others have seen a similar behavior. Might be related but here are some screenshots for reference.
Project Mariner for release in other countries or is this a fluke?
This is specualtive but I think this an early sign that they already have it within one of their internal documents that they will be releasing Mariner to other countries in 12 months or less. Or maybe this is just a mistake on their end.
Damn. I wish I could believe it but given how wonky things can get and how the retrieval of information occurs, I feel like its a long way to go.
Graph from the article, showing "z-values" (I think: how strong a result correlates with their hypothesis) and the count of research items for each. A visible gap between ca 2 and -2, and the negative numbers are about half as many as the postive ones. "A z-value between -1.96 and 1.96 indicates that a result is not statistically significant. The sharp discontinuity around these values suggests that many scientists either didnβt publish results between these values or massaged their data until they cleared the threshold of statistical significance." & "The distribution of over 1 million z-values from medical research. Negative resultsβthose with z-values between -1.96 and 1.96βare mostly missing. (Chart by Adrian Barnett and David Borg, based on data from Erik W. van Zwet and Eric A. Cator.)"
A "getting fooled by the AI-hype" article touching on a general problem of not publishing findings when they were either wrong or just not strong.

If you're part of a marketing team, there is a good chance you're using tools (like a 100% chance)... and have a limited budget for them (110% chance of that!)
