Just stumbling around trying to figure out how the world works.
There was a German in valet parking. A Belgian and a Swiss at odds over vol-au-vents in the kitchen. A small contingent of African spies (Senegal, Cote d'Ivoire, Gabon) on the janitorial staff, relatively careless about Francophone eavesdroppers. She spotted a very young and nervous Turkmen agent shoving a dead-drop spike into the eye of a gaudy reindeer statue at Christmastime, and duly stole it, learning his real name (Kasymguly) and workname (Kevin) in the process. The waitstaff had a Russian agent named Vladimir and a Ukrainian agent named Volodymyr and they'd nearly killed each other in the west parking lot one night. The Polish agent Wtodzimierz, who was considerably older and world-weary, smoked a cigarette, watched them brawl, and predicted they'd both be fired for coming to work with visible bruises. He was right, which was a pity; Volodymyr had been very handsome indeed. They were replaced, in due time, by Dmitri and Dmytro, at which point she began to wonder if Kyiv and Moscow were being deliberate about all this for their own inscrutable reasons.
sorry to poast too much about this but its my first published fiction since high school and i had fun imagining the many many spies at mar a lago

Read Tal's wonderful writing! It pairs perfectly with the ongoing oversized shoe situation amongst blood thirsty, hateful, incompetent adicts.
Holy shit, what fantastic writing.

Ted Lieu: “A foreign hacker likely has the Epstein Files — the best way to prevent blackmail of government officials, such as Trump & Howard Lutnick, would be for AG Pam Bondi to stop the cover up & release all the Epstein Files as required by law”
Thank Julia for filing this suit and getting the tool shut down almost immediately 👏🏽👏🏽
I’ve been following the British state’s interest in censoring Irish music group Kneecap. Unlike far right campaigns* about ‘cancellation’ & ‘woke’, Starmer’s lawyers are >really< trying to censor art & remove freedom of speech. Such authoritarian actions have no place in a democracy.
No matter how advanced A.I. or science measurement gets, it will never compare to the accuracy of Irish people’s sensitivity to class.
Class is complex here as you have several systems [Irish, English, Old English & Continental]. The ability to ‘place’ a person is miraculous [1]
First prize for worst take, today. Killing ppl is not value for money.
Why is it free healthcare is too expensive, but killing people is value for money?! So much for BlueSky being a left wing bubble! Jesus wept!
again, if you put this into a work of fictional satire about the Presidency, people would think you're laying it on a little too thick
and yet

He sweated through a jacket and a shirt. I'm assuming he's wearing a full shirt with sleeves under there.

"private credit" is a rebrand of what used to be called shadow banking, it's just massive capital loans that dont have the same reporting/collateral requirements, and it has EXPLODED in the last decade, from hundreds of millions to trillions. Putting caps on redemption implies the existence of a run
If you LOVED “Sinners” 😍 and got the ick from “One Battle After Another,” 🧐you’re gonna love this episode of VIBE CHECK. 🤓
We also share our Oscar predictions: who we want to win 🤞🏾 and who we think will win. 🤔
The difference between the various kinds consists in the time they take to ripen-the early kind ripens in 60 days-and also in their size. Ulpicum also comes in this class, the plant called by the Greeks Cyprian garlic, or by others antiscorodon; it holds a high rank among the dishes of the country people, particularly in Africa, and it is larger than garlic; when beaten up in oil and vinegar it swells up in foam to a surprising size.
pliny the elder DID mention aioli in his historia naturalis! i found the quote!!! his contemporary columella also mentions beating garlic and oil with a pestle but suggests administering it via nostril to those afflicted with tongue distemper, so im discounting that. for ONCE a primary source!!!!
Marco Rubio greets Chuck Schumer in January 2026 at the Capitol Visitor Center
A close-up of his foot shows his shoes are too big
hmm
These shoes are made for fallin'
And that's just what they'll do.
One of the days the assholes are gonna fall all over you🎶🎵
Improvements strongly encouraged!
The funniest thing about the shoes is they could just buy a pair actually their size and put them on in his presence which means they believe he wants them in oversized shoes as part of it
Uhhh Morgan Stanley is limiting redemptions (withdrawals) on their private credit funds, Blackstone and JPMorgan are limiting private credit lending. Private credit market was already looking real bad under the weight of infinite AI spend which simply put off the CRE collapse but add an oil shock...
If I were a billionaire, a frivolous thing I would do as soon as possible is pay Lil Kim to go into the studio and replace every Diddy verse in my music collection.
Increasingly of the opinion that the correct answer to the Trolley Problem is "fuck you, why are you so fixated on finding reasons to justify killing people?"
just putting this in the 'bring back shame' files
