I’m very sorry. I retired in 2018 so never had to deal with a month long govt shutdown. I believe two weeks was the longest, but I did have to work. And my husband was also a federal govt employee.
Retired federal employee here and just want to comment that not all employees are furloughed and can get another job for a year. A lot have to work without getting paid. Try doing that for a month or longer before saying federal employees can fuck off.
