The thing that irks me most about Clarkson’s AI jape (and I’m certainly not linking to it), is that the political parties will say they don’t approve of manipulating people’s images in this way, but have plausible deniability when it comes to their proxies who don’t give a shit.

I enjoyed it, but yes, it just shored up my existing thoughts. And it's not any sort of book review, is it? I think he may once have described the book as "fine" or "exhaustive" but that's about it.

… in a deeply flawed party.

Why is Nigel cosplaying as a farmer?

Sunderland’s result was hilarious. In a piss-poor season for Wigan, Port Vale are the one team I can honestly say are more shit than we are.

Try Covent Garden Community Centre or downstairs at the Albany, Great Portland Street.

You'd think the Telegraph might lay off stories about how much rich people are being affected by VAT on school fees given IPSO's ruling yesterday.

That and the number of print distributors. At the market's peak there used to be hundreds. I think we're down to five nationally now. And if they go out of business, the papers and magazines literally won't be able to get into shops.

Good God this movie is bad. And Dakota Johnson’s performance is the definition of ‘phoning it in’.

This Is Radio Horse, Top 20, March 2026

Can’t think of anything to listen to this morning? Here’s one last call for my monthly Spotify playlist, designed to jumpstart your listening. There’s a link to an 80-hour compendium of all of these in the blurb.

AM, FM all that jazz / We’d rather sing along with Jazzateers (and Echo & the Bunnymen, Broadcast, Annie & the Caldwells. Altin Gün, Yuck and the like). Yes it’s another Radio Horse playlist. Careful curation or random load of shit? You decide.

This is true. The #wafc hashtag on X is a consistently surreal wellspring of fan culture and club news with nothing to compare with it here. The unfortunate downside of that is I’ve heard of Rupert Lowe who I don’t think would gave registered were I not clinging on to X.

I think the main one was “What the fucking hell is that?”, but if we’re being generous, most present won’t have seen the announcement on the scoreboard.

Why is there a picture of Keir Starmer alongside this story? His party finished third so not much sign they benefitted from these reputed dodgy practices.

They seem to have matured into an emo-adjacent AOR band. Not altogether a bad thing.

I think the seminal piece of collaborative Van has to be Jackie Wilson Says. I once read that the musicians on that only ever played it together twice. Yet it’s the most insanely tight arrangement I’ve ever heard.

Tons of goldfinches down our way; l day long in the garden. Only seen a handful of greenfinches and never a bullfinch.

Seems everyone has seen a goldcrest lately but me. Chaffinches also weirdly rare in south London.

Can I make a confession? I hate the exploratory bass playing on AW, particularly on Sweet Thing. Compare it to the concision of the bass on Into the Mystic and it’s that tight, R&B Van that I prefer.

The ease with which curlers get round the ice on flat shoes shows that skaters, with their blades, are just showing off.

Do we think the name is an homage to the People’s Republic or cups and saucers?

Oooooh. I was going to say: first think I’ll do is look for my name in the index, but I was prepared for disappointment. She is quite something. Apart from, perhaps, the country album, she’s seldom been even on nodding terms with the dumper.

My school went from a grammar to being a comp when I was there. It had a flat roof in both eras, but then you weren’t going to get a proper pointy education in Chorley. Better results as a comp, though, class fans.
