My brother has never been a political nerd like me and my parents, and he says it's because he doesn't feel smart enough to understand issues enough to debate them.

Unfortunately, I'm already notorious for never checking my work email, even when it's on my phone. My admin knows to text me if she sends me an email that needs a reply in 24 hours.

She did. It's not that big of a deal. It happens a lot working with kids. I'm more annoyed by traffic & gas prices than a last minute cancellation because a kid had a fever. She left a message with reception after hours, so it's not her fault. I should have stayed home instead of going in early.🤷♀️
Yeah...but I'd rather have a last minute cancellation due to sickness than keep the appointment with a sick kid. All the kids are getting sick. It's the second wave after the post-winter break sickness wave.

I work with kiddos and young adults on the spectrum - literal thinking is always a little funny. Jason has said dumber things. 🤣
Without opening the can, it probably is a bit confusing for kids who are just reading the label. I don't know how they could get confused while eating it, though. 😆

I told Floor she was going to work with me, and she started running around my feet when I brought the carrier into the living room. It wasn't time to leave yet, but she hopped in and stared at me like...
"I'm ready. Can we go now?!"

It's possible, and that's what I'm hoping. I checked in on him the last time, and he got back to me relatively quickly because he was able to evacuate as a precaution - but didn't really need to. Obviously this time is different, but I'm hoping it's just a loss of Internet access. 🥺
I just went on a subscription cancellation spree. Highly recommend! I was paying subscriptions in case I want to use it in the near future, but now I'm only going to pay for them if it turns out that I do want to use it.

I knew a few kids growing up whose parents were Iranian immigrants, and they were all the proof I needed that they are brave, kind, and brilliant people. They're part of the reason why I make sure to differentiate between leaders and citizens when referring to a country. (Ex. Kremlin =/= Russians)

When I lost Bebop, then my mom, then Rocky, he checked in on me often. More than most irl friends.
He explained in coded language why he is single...and why living in Tehran is lonely.

One time, I let him join my livestream, because I saw that him in the chat. I felt bad that I didn't know how to pronounce his name when I said hello. He came on the screen and was very patient while helping me say his name correctly.😆 He has the sweetest giggle.
One year, he asked if I would send him a holiday card-it was tricky figuring out how to write his address, but he got it. He filmed himself opening it🥹 The following March, he lost his dad to COVID. He was devastated & isolated. He knew I lost mine, and reached out. We bonded over this, too.
He said he felt guilty for what he said, and wanted to be a kinder and more empathetic person. He started making it his goal to use social media to be kind - sharing lovely content, and leaving kindness in everyone's comments. He loves bunnies, but can't own one, so he's an honorary bunny person.
