One thing they don't tell you about being a writer is that your family and friends won't read your stuff and you just have to be okay with that.

I thought hipsters were annoying as fuck but omg compared to MAGAt foolishness and outright fascism they were a fucking dream.
I never thought I'd feel fucking nostalgic about the 2010s. But you could work part time and live on the Plateau in Montreal writing screen plays and eating artisanal pickles, and yeah the cops were tear gassing protestors but like...it was still better than now? Fuck.
Why are they still calling this the Iran war when Israel is bombing everyone and has been for years now?
No to war. Why is this hard to grasp?

Talking to people at cellphone companies is like trying to navigate a fundamentally different brain. They cannot seem to communicate at a basic level of cost effectiveness, it's all twisty turny bullshit.
The Authors Guild is now offering "Human Authored" certification marks for literary works in which "the text itself was fully authored by one or more human beings and not generated by AI." What a time to be alive!
It honestly makes me so angry when folks try to book you and won't fully pay for, or arrange, travel to the gig. If you want us, then get us there, and don't nickel and dime us, thanks.

This is bad. Very very bad.
Spent a day with Métis youth and seniors/Elders and it was honestly really what I needed.
YESSSSSSSSSSS!!!!!
This week Pierre Poilievre made a bunch of sketchy claims about people claiming refugee status in Canada. So we fact- checked him using research from the Migrant Rights Network.

I know it’s difficult right now, but I insist that you seek and enjoy beautiful things, even if it seems frivolous or irresponsible in the face of overwhelming horror. I want you to feed yourself artistically, spiritually, and literally, because you can’t Do The Work when you’re starving.
People are always like what’s something you miss from the past and one of mine is antitrust laws
You're a journalist. You fucking know what it all means, and if you're going to be coy at least have the decency to shush.
David calling out the real life issues faced by Albertans caused by the racist rhetoric spewed by the ucp that is allowing shitty racist Albertans to be openly shitty.
Accurate.
What kind of society can we hope to build keeping taxes artificially low, landlords artificially rich, and real human beings dying from neglect?
Asking the leaders of my city, my province, and my country. Why no housing?
What are we doing?
And yet there will be 0 outcry from folks who otherwise complain loudly about the much lower increases municipal portion of property tax. In Calgary the provincial share is about 40%. The AB advantage is now about being nickel and dimed for everything in return for a Potemkin village
I'm okay, folks, it's just been a rough time for no reason. My kids gave me all the hugs and my partner is awesome, and it's going to be okay even if my brain won't believe it.
I can't even look at my emails right now. I feel monstrous. Totally unfit for human interaction. It's ridiculous and pointless and inescapable and at this moment I don't remember ever feeling something other than all-encompassing dread.
My anxiety has been so bad these past few days I've been literally unable to function. Life is the same as always, there are constant demands and worries, so it's not some giant new thing. But knowing it's just *happening* because of chemicals in my brain doesn't make it stop. I hate this.
And just because I've never seen a Haud use syllabics to write with, there's no reason they couldn't.
(not the syllabic at the end I mean, just a 'final' as in one of the small ones)
Ooh! I also caught that one final syllabic that isn't in any syllabary I've ever seen, the sort of wiggly 'q' looking one? I figure it must be a mistake.
