Act. Our leaders must act.
They must.
If more guns meant less gun violence, this simply wouldn't be our reality. We have too many guns here in America for that logic to hold water.

Gun violence doesnβt check party ID. It is indiscriminate. And the American people always lose.
We know change is possible. We must stop pretending there are βsidesβ and fight together to build a safer future.
We simply DO NOT have to live this way.
Our leaders must
As I sit here and process that video, news is breaking of another school shooting in Denver.
What, the fuck, are we doing?
Trulyβwhat the hell are we doing as a nation that accepts both political violence and daily school shootings as βnormalβ? And these are the shootings the news covers....
Let's be abundantly clear:
The only legitimate response to violence is to denounce itβespecially political violence. Instead, too often we double down, promoting more violence in the aftermath. That twisted logic is why America drowns in gunfire.
For further context, In 2005 my parents were shot. My dad survived. My mom did not. That loss has defined my life. For 20 years Iβve worked in gun violence prevention, now with @bradyunited.org , to fight for stronger gun laws so fewer families live through the pain mine has carried.
I just saw the video of Charlie Kirk being shotβshared by Rep. MTG. It left me sick. Horrified. We should never normalize turning violence and trauma into content. That is not leadership, itβs exploitation.
We must collectively reject violence and the violent rhetoric that fuels it, before it is too late.
A democracy solves its differences through the ballot box, not the bullet box. This idea is not a partisan one. It is the fundamental footing upon which our constitution and Country stands.
What i can do is share a letter from @smith.senate.gov staff to Mike Lee's staff that articulates the frustration and sadness of being humans experiencing trauma in real time, and now also having to navigate the callous and inhumane response from his office in the aftermath. x.com/burgessev/st...
I dont quite have the words to express the pit I have in my stomach over the targeted political violence that occurred in Minnesota, or how jarring it is to see a response from some Republican lawmakers, including the President, to blame democrats, in spite of democrat lawmakers being targeted.
Guns are the #1 cause of death for U.S. kids, but securely storing firearms can help change that.
That's why we team up with @adcouncil.bsky.social on our @endfamilyfire.org program to spread the message of secure gun storage.
Brady's @christianheyne.bsky.social shares how change is possible.
2016 Hegseth would be calling for the impeachment and imprisonment of 2025 Hegseth.
Wild.
If DOGE is a federal agency, it canβt shield its records from the public.
If itβs not an agency, then its tens of millions of dollars in funding werenβt legally allocated and should be returned, some contend.
The Office of Gun Violence Prevention was a historic test of what a whole-of-govenment approach to addressing the uniquely American crisis of gun violence.
Run by survivors it worked to protect ALL Americans.
The shuttering of this office is abhorrent and should outrage all every single American.

If we cannot be kind to people posting in real time about unimaginable loss- we should just be quiet.
They read the comments.
Just say nothing. Donβt ask how they got separated from their dog. Donβt minimize the extent of their losses. Donβt send them unvetted resources or information.

Vice President Kamala Harris oversaw the proceedings, which went off without any objections, mob violence or people dying.
Woof.
Devastating news.
Irony would like a word.
Gaetz is so innocent he resigned his seat in Congress to try & block the report from becoming public, then filed an emergency motion seeking an injunction to block its release, now canβt fight the charges because he quit rather than stay and contest them.
As innocent people do.
These memes are just perfect.
A woman was asleep on a subway and a man she did not know set her on fire.
This is absolutely terrifying.
And it will never get anywhere close to the level of attention and analysis as Brian Thompsonβs murder.

This is a real tweet by the Democratic Party and I canβt help but wonder where this energy has been for the past 6 months

Warren: I find it just laughable that the Republicans are saying. well, actually, the Republicans couldn't come together and cut a deal, but the Democrats should have gotten out there and saved their sorry butts. Thatβs just nuts
