Spiked oil prices mean that producers and retailers have to increase the price of goods at the same time as consumers' discretionary spending power is being squeezed by higher gas prices.
But donβt worry. It gets worse. lnk.thebulwark.com/3NqaF8Z
Chris Murphy: "I Just came from a two hour, closed door classified briefing on the war. It just confirmed to me it's totally incoherent. We are not gonna be able to achieve any of our stated objectives ... this is a disaster of epic proportions, a 10 day debacle"
The administrationβs war with Iran is setting a mountain of taxpayer dollars on fire every dayβmostly because he doesnβt know what heβs doing.

ROGAN: "It just seems so insane based on what he ran on. I mean, this is why a lot of people feel betrayed. He ran on no more wars and these stupid, senseless wars. And then we have one that we can't even really clearly define why we did it."
(From home of the brave)
CBS: Trump said yesterday for the first time that he had to strike Iran because he thought Iran would strike the US within 7 days. Where is he getting that?
LEAVITT: This was a feeling the president had based on facts
Incredible. Do they think thatβs all we care about? I guess itβs possible they project their own self-interest on to us and assume itβs our controlling motivation.
Wow. More possible cover ups?
SEVEN. Thatβs how many strikes hit near the Iranian girlsβ school.
Video shows a tomahawk missile hitting a building next to the school. The kind of βprecisionβ you get when an incompetent administration runs a war on outdated intelligence.
Donβt look away βwe should all see the deadly destruction
Trump just claimed the Tomahawk missile that destroyed an Iranian girlsβ school, killing 160 children, βcould have been anyoneβs.β
Question: Has someone in our government been illegally selling them to Iran, or is he lying?
Either option is bad. One is a lie, the other is treason.
Even by Trump standards of galactic batshittery, that press conference was an all-timer.
SUMMARY:
- The war is over & just beginning.
- We may have sold Tomahawks to our enemy so they could kill their own children.
- The new leader of Iran must be eternal & internal
- No mutilisashion of children.
His pattern is to lie and justify the lie by appealing to something that βeveryone knowsβ ( βas you knowβ¦β) which is also untrue and therefore also a lie.
His response is lying with compounding lies.
Truly unbelievable stuff. Just up there shamelessly lying his ass off
1. Oil price spikes, friends sell.
2. Announce war is over before market closes.
3. Oil price crashes, friends buy.
4. Announce war is NOT over after market closes.
5 Return to Step 1.
Tragic.
He went from βunconditional surrenderβ and βI must pick their new leaderβ to full βjust declare victory and get the hell outβ TACO Trump.
Trump said we were going to war to demand that Iran turn over all their enriched uranium to us, and we also demanded regime change where Trump would choose the new leader. Now Trump is apparently declaring victory after accomplishing none of that.
Letβs get one thing straight: We are not a Christian nation. We are a nation where you are free to be a Christian.
Your religion guides you, not all of us. Itβs as simple as that.
Heβs consistently viewed the military as suckers and losers. Why would he care if Putin is targeting our military personnel? This is who Trump has always been.
An MS NOW panel called out Donald Trump over his dismissive attitude and response to reports that Vladimir Putin is giving aid to Iran by helping the embattled regime target U.S. troops.
To believe that Trump will be damaged by high gas prices and an unpopular war, youβve got to assume that we are still competing in a free and fair democratic system. lnk.thebulwark.com/40hZXV1
β¦his own glory and profit. This is who leads you.β
βTrump is today telling every member of the US military that it is ok with him if Russia helps Iran kill them--every one,β writes Phillips OβBrien. βOnce again Americans, Trump looks at US military personnel as suckers and losers that he can sacrifice for

We are witnessing the military version of Trumpβs COVID response: The president says crazy, demonstrably untrue things every day1 while his administration fails at the basic blocking and tackling of government.

In 2024, Donald Trump campaigned on two big promises: (1) he'd bring down gas prices; and (2) he'd not start any new wars.
In 2026, Donald Trump will cause gas prices to spike astronomically by starting a new war.
He's smartβand trustworthyβlike that.
I was asked by Jake Tapper if my push to deny Trump funding for his illegal war with Iran was a failure to "support our troops".
My answer: refusing to repeat the mistakes of the past - sending soldiers to die in pointless Middle East wars - is how we support our troops
