That was such an interesting read, thank you for sharing! I really like how "realistic" it feels, with the telling of history being used as a tool of propaganda, edited depending on the current ruler.

Oh, I'm curious how things are translated now ^^ like, are the "warrens" called "garennes" since that would be a direct translation, or something else since mages aren't rabbits? I was planning on re-reading these books, maybe I'll read the French translation instead this time.

Thinking more on Malazan, we know there are propagandist-painters following these armies, so even if Duiker himself didn't draw someone may have documented the whole Chain of Dogs events on dwindling materials... having the illustration style mirror the story would sooo cool (in a heartbreaking way)

Random thought, but: I'd love to create a full set of "in-universe" illustrations for a book. Whether it's Feyre's drawings in ACOTAR or Ormulogun's paintings for the Malazan army or anyone else's, I don't care, it has so much potential!

Tbh buying an interrail train ticket and visiting Scandinavia in winter is still very much part of my plans, now that I've seen some small auroras on the northern horizon I want to see bigger ones fill the sky!

It's weird you didn't see them despite being further north than me, really I'm afraid that must be due to BRETON REGIONAL SUPREMACY!!!!! TAKE THAT VIKINGS!

There were a lot of city lights and buildings in the way, so it wasn't *that* amazing, at first I was wondering what was wrong with these glowy clouds XD but still! Auroras!

I knew they'd look less saturated than on photos (because night vision and city lights), but what really surprised me was how quickly they moved/varied in intensity. I thought they'd be slower ^^

I'm still hoping I can watch them fill the sky in Scandinavia some day, of course :)

Rememeber when i said I'd love to see the auroras some day? Well I did!!! Last night, I saw them dancing in the sky from my window (in Brittany, France). The conditions weren't ideal because I live in the middle of a city, but still! Auroras! I'm so happy ^^

Loved it too! In general I really enjoy his characters (they need hugs, fortunately I have arms) and the universes are so beautiful and inspiring that I want to paint fanarts of all of them <3

personally I find it easier to keep track of what's said in text format compared to video, so I'm glad you're not in your YouTuber phase right now :D

And thanks so much for writing it! When I built my portfolio it took me soooo long to find advice in various places online, to look at other people's websites and list what I wanted to do on mine... so putting all that info in one place, seen and organized from an AD's pov is amazing for new pros!
