Meija has 28.7% of the vote. The three moderates behind her have 60% of the vote. So by splitting the moderate vote (NJ 11 is a former GOP district that would hardly be considered progressive), it has paved the way for a progressive to win and add another AOC-type to Congress. Interesting stuff

In a very crowded field, the progressive, Bernie/AOC endorsed candidate, Analila Meija is up by 486 votes over former Rep, Tom Malinowski who is considered a moderate. The next two closest candidates are also from the moderate, establishment wing of the party.

Interesting developments in NJ 11 special election primary. NJ is a closed primary state. When all mail ins and provisionals are counted, it looks like 65,000 democrats will have voted. By comparison, 2024’s democratic primary turned out about 52,000.

Article I, Section 4 “…but the Congress may at any time by law make or alter such Regulations.” I read that as Congress can dictate to the states how to run their elections through legislation. I don’t think he has the support of enough of Congress to pass such legislation. Dead issue IMO
