@melador.bsky.social Have you seen this before? The first one is Mia but the rest is all Kassie! 🙂

At least I have Arkansas basketball to look forward to still! 🤷♀️
Now more than ever:
I know I must have come across as a giant nerd—which I am, lol—but as a country fan I know a lot of people haven’t said anything at all and I try not to assume either way. Might be naive at times but there it is. 🙂
Out May 1st! 🙂
I bring this up because Kacey Musgraves announced her new album, Middle of Nowhere, today and it includes a Miranda collab. 🙂
Just to add more context on MirLam’s “Y’all Means All”: It’s a song from the revival of Queer Eye for the Straight Guy in 2022, and includes the line “If you’re torn between the Y’s and X’s, you ain’t gotta play the hand you’re dealt” (subtle trans rights support there?).
Also: She and Kacey have known each other since they were young girls in East Texas—they had the same guitar teacher, and even wrote a song together! 🙂
I wasn’t trying to be argumentative BTW @m3rmaidmelia.bsky.social, just adding some anti-MAGA context to the conversation about Miranda. 🙂
(They even sang her songs—deep cuts included!)
She’s never said anything publicly, and in fact, her brother is gay, she did a song a few years ago called “Y’all Means All”, AND she and her brother held a party last year with drag queens dressed as her in honor of the 20th anniversary of her first (major studio) album, Kerosene.
Kacey has a new album out on May 1st AND there’s a Miranda collab? Someone loves me today. 🤠😍
Alright, new episode of Billboard BREAKDOWN, and it's a long one here, enjoy! youtu.be/SoBC64TLrxk
And now it's live for everyone, enjoy! youtu.be/A_KPJaePL8E
Same tbh.
No one better to capture this fairly historic moment in country history!
Alright, new episode of Billboard BREAKDOWN is here and it's eventful - enjoy! youtu.be/Y2tlDaw-IZI
And now we're live to everyone - yes, a faster turnaround time to make public, but this was one I'd like to get out and get past quickly (another longer piece is planned for later this week).
So yeah, enjoy! youtu.be/1a_fmnZrQfE
As of 7:39 tonight, I am officially 37 years old! Thank you for all the birthday wishes and keep the faith! 🥳
Not even joking: “There’s Your Trouble” is on a country station in the Tidewater area of Virginia I’m listening to RIGHT NOW! I just found it! 🥳
If Trump could stop picking my birthday to do particularly stupid/dangerous things…that would be great. (This happened last year, too, with the infamous Zelenskyy press conference at the White House.)
As I begin my 37th year on Earth today, here are the top 40 songs on the Billboard Hot 100 the week I was born (the Billboard charting week ending Saturday, March 4th, 1989).
The cover of Neil Sedaka's "Circulate" which has him wearing a sharp suit and strolling down a park lane with a lady on each arm like a fucking pimp
RIP to pop legend Neil Sedaka, pictured here taking a stroll down a sunny path in a sharp suit with a lady on each arm like a fucking pimp
Episode of the Trailing Edge for February is live! Still have a lot of albums to write about at some point (from today and throughout the previous month), but if you want to hear about my favourite songs the past month, here you go! youtube.com/shorts/qr957...
Weird fact: Jeffrey Skilling, who DID go to prison due to the Enron scandal, is the brother of retired WGN-TV Chicago meteorologist Tom Skilling, perhaps the single most beloved TV personality in Windy City history (even Bozo the Clown might not beat him!).
Thanks, I was genuinely asking because I know everyone from the players to the coaching staff is new…but it feels more or less like what we’ve seen for several years now. But if the recruiting is promising, I’ll trust the process!
Thanks for your insight! I know some fans have been saying that he is already a bust, but of course I realize some might be more ready to jump the gun than others.
I mean, you could watch the State of the Union... or you could watch a new episode of Billboard BREAKDOWN that's up early for once, enjoy! youtu.be/2e0p5iISO20
So serious question Hoosier Nation: After tonight’s game, is Darian DeVries even closer to getting fired? I know it’s his first year and the refs sucked, but damn.
This is just me speculating, but I think that part of it is that the kinds of artists that critics respected were at the time mostly concerned with albums, not singles, so if you look at the singles charts you get a different version of the '70s than the album charts
