My songs aren't clean and polished. They're not tightly edited or perfectly balanced. They are a gross representation of the shit in my head. They are honest.

As a bassist who plays guitar, I've struggled to find my voice on guitar. I play pretty well, but only recently have I really been able to "speak" through the instrument.
This is a post about sticking with it. Everyone sucks at first, but you'll find your voice, I promise.
Happy 311 Day to those who celebrate!
What's your songwriting process? I'm still trying to figure mine out, but it's starting to reveal itself as: melody, then chord progression, then song structure/arrangement, and finally lyrics. Let me know your thoughts!
Why does learning new mixing and mastering techniques automatically mean I need to go back and rework every song I've ever written?
I'm pretty excited about receiving an SM58 today. I've been curious about mic modeling, and Melda Production makes a sim software that works with the SM58, and it's on sale for $22. I don't expect it to perfectly model Neumanns or Telefunkens, but I think it'll be interesting.
At this point, I have 4 songs in various states of creation. Going to get some mixes together and then share them with the world.
I finished another song, so I guess I'm a songwriter now. It only took 40+ years... #betterlatethannever
Hey musicians! Drop me your Bandcamp or SoundCloud (or any other) links!
I wrote a thing, the very first thing I've ever written. We see you, Minneapolis.

I picked up the Mixing and Mastering Cheat Sheet Binder from mastering.com and it turns out I have no idea what I'm doing.
One of these days I'll have to finish the PRS SE 245 customization on stream. Still have some locking tuners to install!
I may have accidentally written another song last night.
I know I've been flakey with streaming, but I have to tell you that good things are happening. I've actually been writing a LOT of new music, I've just been doing it off stream, BECAUSE I'M WRITING LYRICS AND IT'S SCARY. Anyway, I'm planning on getting back to streaming more regularly.
I'm just going to leave this here, in case you're in the mood for some moody-ass cinematic music...

This is the first song I've ever written, the acoustic version, with a full-band version coming soon. I hope you enjoy it: soundcloud.com/redwolfaudio...
A Shure Beta 58a microphone
Sometimes simplicity is the best.
This song is kinda coming together... samples soon!
Fucked around and wrote a whole-ass song today. Lyrics and everything. This has never happened to me before. Stay tuned...
Side note to my last post: School of Rock during rehearsal time is NOT the best time to try to write lyrics.
Just me, sitting here at School of Rock, listening to student bands rehearse, and reminiscing about high school and college band.
I just deleted my TikTok account. I suggest that you do as well; their new terms of service gives them permission to basically take whatever information they want from your device.
Any video content I create from this point forward will be over on YouTube. www.youtube.com/@RedWolfAudi...
OMG I forgot how much I love Bluesky.
My kid just finished his first band practice and is now in a private lesson.
Proud Dad moment.
No stream tonight. Shooting for tomorrow. Hope to see you there?
a guitar pick holder in the shape of a guitar amplifier
I'm excited to announce I'm starting a line of tiny guitar amps!
J/K - This is a pick holder that my wife gave me for Christmas, and it's fucking adorable.
I had the honor of working with Dan Napoli of Cinema Hero Films scoring a tribute to paintball legend Antony 'Ledz' Leadbetter, out now on YouTube!
