All the presentations of that particular session highlighted the need for more gendered research, as the disparities between sexes need to be addressed and understood when it comes to dealing with HbA1c and TiR, but also complications such as CVD and CKD risks, neuropathy and visual impairment.

There was a lof of focus on AI and prevention, but only 1 session at the conference was completely dedicated to female health. Though menopause was mentioned (our poster and the amazing @moodwife.bsky.social got a few shout outs), there is still hardly any research for women living with diabetes.

Last week I attended #ATTD2025 in Amsterdam thanks to the #dedocº voices sponsorship programme, where a poster created by the #menopause_mithers24 group (of which I am part of) on the use of diabetes technologies for women in perimenopause and menopause with T1D was presented.
