Also, it posits the idea that peach pie will end racism, which I think we should hear out.
A core beat in Tales of Rebirth's story is that people are getting so racist that it's causing natural disasters.
I'm reading Tim Curry's memoir and he has an anecdote about playing music with Cher at Carole King's house then immediately follows it up with a story about going with Carly Simon to Studio 54, where Truman Capote was DJing.

The RPGs of the 90s had a type.... and they had headbands. And I've officially decided the next time I design a game character, they will have A HEADBAND! ๐ฅ๐ช
One thing I appreciate about old internet humor is how blunt it was. Look at this image. Adding ANYTHING ruins the joke. It's perfect. Why? Because some guy on a message board went "I really want to dunk on this game, what's the least work I can do to get my point across." Pure Distilled Comedy.

Any of these books, including my own, would be a great pick-- but I especially want to talk up MAEJ! It and Hiron Ennes's WORKS OF VERMIN are hands down my favorite secondary world fantasy doorstoppers of this decade. I'm picky as hell about fantasy doorstoppers.
I bought that book at a Barnes and Noble like 15 years ago. I remember fans of the game were excited that it got a translation until they realized it's boring.
Ned's been playing Parasite Eve, I remembered that I used to own the Hideaki Sena novel it's technically a sequel to, went to look it up and buy it again only to find it's like a $200 collectors item now???

Only ten episodes aired of the 23 episode 'Fox Kids cut' of Escaflowne, broadcast in its Saturday morning cartoons slot in the summer of 2000. It underwent heavy narrative editing and had additional techno-infused music composed by Inon Zur.
