Photos of Alex Pretti with Sara’s caption: On August 16th at approximately 10:00 pm I received a call from the ICU at the VA saying my Dad had sepsis and needed to be intubated to stay alive so Josh and I headed in. We were greeted by the kindest, most calming and warm soul who helped us understand what was happening and showed deep care for us and my Dad. He continued to show utmost patience and kindness over the next few days as my Dad remained in the ICU and we were there continually. It was Alex Pretti, the man shot today by ICE. If you see this video and don't think it's murder, I don't understand your thinking and ask you to question your heart. He was out there trying to help and protect and from the little we knew of him, it doesn't surprise me he was not afraid to be on the front lines of this horrible scene in our Minneapolis. Weeping for his family and all those at the VA who no longer get to work with him or receive his care.
My friend Sara posted this about the superb care her father received from with Alex Pretti
Absolutely heartbreaking
I don’t have a manifesto or philosophy to post. Just profound grief for what we’ve lost as a nation. They killed a nurse in cold blood. His last act was helping a woman who was shoved to the ground by federal agents. She says his last words were, are you ok? -Internal Medicine Physician, Denver

Hi Bluesky,
God just needs 17k followers to hit 600k. And then 66k more after that to hit 666k. That will be funny.
Thanks,
God
Also, it’s extremely labour intensive to maintain.
Like, kiss your “downtime” goodbye cuz you’re gonna be tilling and planting and weeding and pruning and weeding and picking and preparing and canning and it’s basically a full time job to maintain a garden that can feed a family.
@nytimes.com your coverage of news is horrible! What has happened to objectivity and truth???

The Trump admin is making a deal with one of the worst convicted child sex traffickers in history to protect Trump.
The stewards of our news media range from irresponsible to corrupt. He's not so much winning as they are losing. They're caving to fascism when they should be our last bulwark against it.

Senate Republicans know this bill is rotten to its core, but being a rubber stamp to Trump comes before everything else — including their constituents.
If they actually cared about its impact on constituents, this bill would fail. And it would fail BIG.

You'd never know from the @nytimes.com and @washingtonpost.com front pages, but yesterday the President of the United States was asked if he needs to "uphold the Constitution," and his answer was "I don't know."
Trump has released his 2026 budget that include cuts for: NSF: -56% NIH: -40% EPA: -55% CDC: -33% NASA: -24% Make no mistake- this is not just trimming the budget. These cuts are a direct attack on US research, innovation, and public health.

A burgeoning movement among Big Ten universities would create an alliance to counter government attacks on higher education, which the White House says aim to end “woke” policies on campuses it views as fostering antisemitism and harboring foreign students engaged in “known illegal” activity.
Last March, Senator Van Hollen held a listening session with Maryland farmers at our REC. He sought to understand their challenges and make improvements. That day and yesterday, he demonstrated what it means to be a great civil servant. I am proud to have met you, Senator.
This Day in History
April 16, 1963: Martin Luther King Jr. writes “Letter from a Birmingham Jail”
"Injustice anywhere is a threat to justice everywhere. We are caught in an inescapable network of mutuality tied in a single garment of destiny. Whatever affects one directly, affects all indirectly."
