like, i was a 2010s tumblrite, i had that overprotective representation mindset, but even then i could see how the show was pulling its own weight. genuinely the only time i've ever seen a story shunned for having good characters
i really told myself the daryl dee album was happening last month and school said "nah" 🥲 i'm so excited to share it with everyone it's just...taking time
anyway, sorry for the kind of doomy rambling, i think everyone's been doing that lately and i humbly add my quarter to the "doomposting jar". just gonna keep focusing on what i can control and feel safe participating in. 💙
but hey, i had a blast at ANE 2020, managed to come back for ANE 2024, was planning on AC 2025 before things got disrupted, what's another 4 years of waiting to go to either con, right? i'm definitely willing to wait for all that while i enjoy both Fur-Eh and Calfurry's offerings.
i can plan around it, i still have furry friends and community where i am, but it hurts being a furry and not being able to be where so many of your best friends are. i still really liked being a part of the energy in boston and ANE is forever gonna be home to my favourite con experiences.
maybe this year it'll be fine, and i can do the same vaguely dehumanizing experience i always get for being trans. maybe next year it'll get worse so I should do it now! but i guess in a time of uncertainty i just wanna know what to expect, i dunno
in the past year i've only heard only good or mildly okay stories from people crossing the us border but i still don't really wanna risk it. last year felt devastating but this year i feel more prepared to do cool stuff with my local furry family
that's so so rad, that's one hell of a hometown hero moment 🤗💕

jack (absrdst) is going through a psychotic episode, please don't engage. if you are close to him and have the means to keep yourself above water, please help him find serious medical help. i'm not religious but i'm praying this episode ends, this is nothing like his attitude i've ever seen in years
i did make a page on my neocities to describe my identity succinctly in a character card like table but i'm thinking i should rewrite it like prose
when in reality my identity is my own and nobody else is more qualified to talk about it than me
i feel this, like, my initial reaction to me feeling genderfluid or therian or potentially plural was to do my research...and that felt like a mistake in some ways. i felt crestfallen when my individual experience wasn't really summed up by a label, i just didn't want to be alone in my experience

i like furry music's variety in a way that is hard to compare, especially when i have a personal and specific connection to like 60% of the furry music i wanna talk about
