The research was led by Imperial's Professor Leon Barron with Dr @helenarappwright.bsky.social and Earthwatch Europe's Dr Sasha Woods, Laura Bannatyne, Steven Loiselle and Kevin Simmonds.

Earthwatch also enrolled 5000 citizen scientists with over a thousand sampling kits to test the UK’s waterways.

A Three-Pillar Approach to Laboratory Sustainability in Environmental Analysis This work applies a three-pillar sustainability framework to laboratories conducting environmental analysis, highlighting how balancing environmental, economic, and social factors can reduce waste, resource use, and inequities while supporting global sustainability goals.
