Mindless tech bros who think Elon Musk is god... about as intellectually impressive as you'd think they are.

Insofar as Trump 2024 had a central policy promise other than "do fascism, loot the government" - it was mass deportation. I will never forget the "Mass Deportation Now" signs that these jagoffs brought to Milwaukee. Just a gas giant sized L.

There are fewer things I've come to believe in more over the past few years than, "People need to learn what happens when you touch a broiling hot stove."

Yeah, yeah, yeah, Russia is winning so much that in the fifth year of its full-scale invasion, Ukraine is supplying its weapons to the U.S. and the Gulf states.

Yeah like the ritual humiliation of these people by a man who has no respect for them, but to whom they are required to perform degrading rituals of submission to, is on the nicer end of "things these guys definitely deserve."

Childcare is one of those fields that I would say an overwhelming majority of the population agrees is necessary and important to invest in, both from a labor perspective and an infrastructure perspective. The remaining portion of the population that doesn't are all elected Republicans.

Having worked in childcare for just shy of a full year now (anniversary's soon), I can safely say: I know why people burn out in this field very fast.

I think this story is a really good example for people to look at when it comes to understanding bias at NYT. It's not that the reporter, Dana Rubinstein, says anything outright false. But the framing, word choices, etc., add up to an unprofessional and biased account.

Gonna be honest: if you're even incidentally aligning with Elon Musk on USAID, as I've seen some leftists do, you have lost your way so badly you might as well be on Mars.

10.03.2026 17:15 πŸ‘ 29 πŸ” 5 πŸ’¬ 1 πŸ“Œ 0

The biggest oligarch on the planet, Elon Musk, deliberately engineered USAID's destruction. Seems like a notable data point here if we're going to discuss capitalism, since one of its biggest beneficiaries in human history deliberately gutted the US gov't's efforts to help the world's poorest.

the NYT's anti-Mamdani stuff also has this very distinct tone of sneering resentment. oh, he does all this COOL stuff that PEOPLE like, does he? but why hasn't he done THIS (thing that he has done) then?

In light of the news that Trump's been forcing his yes men to wear shoes that don't fit them... I eagerly await the menswear guy's take on these shoes

This reminds me of how Hoover got ~80% of his 1928 voters in 1932

Trump losing even ~10% of his voters from 2024 to the Dems would mean a midterm disaster for the GOP. Very much possible.

I resent the degree to which Trump's federal government sees fit to steal from me and other people who are actually decent - in contrast to them, who are ambulating fleshbags of corruption and criminality. Mobsters by another name.

A representative who I believe is serving with distinction right now is @joaquincastrotx.bsky.social. Working tirelessly to free detained families, gathering testimony from those left behind, using his public profile to draw attention to the terrible plight of those who fall into DHS's clutches.

This brochure from 2024 might be helpful? Looks like there is a cost saving program for Paxlovid for Medicare recipients.

And here's the link to the program for people who are insured through Medicare:

When I got COVID back in 2022, I played phone tag with several clinics and asked for Paxlovid, and they told me at the time that they don't really give it unless you're someone at higher risk for COVID complications. Maybe they're being less stingy about it now, so I'd say take it if you can get it!
