I had a friend who had that happen repeatedly when she was a secretary who actually did the work her boss was hired for. She finally got a degree and changed from state to federal and moved on up.

My brothers were both ‘Vietnam vets’. One worked in an office in Saigon for 3 years with regular paid R&R to Thailand to visit the brothels. The other was on a ship that made it a point to wander into Vietnamese waters so they could all be called Vietnam vets.

Conservativism involved lying about the effects of their proposals and the costs involved. It was never a real belief system, it was a con job, always.
