OKAY FINE!!!! i will admit that i bike a lil recklessly at times but going fast while blasting machine girl unlocks something evil deep inside of me that tells me to go fast on my bike!!!!

biked down the scariest steepest hill today and felt like i was going 2 die and ofc i went weeeeeeeeeeeee all the way down

came home soaked from biking in the rain just now and my friend announced to the household "there's a wet dog!" while unlocking the door to let me in lmao

OHHHHHH!!!! i had noooooo idea lol i'm so out of it with terms oops. i also deal with anxiety + depression and it for sure hits worse in winter but ya!

idk if i can call it that. is that like an umbrella term? i'm hypermobile which causes chronic pain + fatigue every day, and folks who are hypermobile have a harder time as the weather cools. cold = stiff muscles + my connective tissue doesn't act as it should = major flares eeeeep!!

my friend got covid for the first time from attending an artist market while masked, and it has been absolutely devastating for them. they have been in and out of the hospital for weeks. please mask. please test. idk what else to say. it sucks seeing them in pain and my heart hurts.

one last thing: community means making room for people you may not like, too. not everyone has to be your friend. sometimes you won't connect as well with someone and that's okay. it doesn't make you or them a bad person. just saying!! but obviously don't make room for genuinely evil people.

also!!!! conflict isn't a bad word. conflict can be setting boundaries, disagreements, and having difficult conversations. it's annoying how conflict and discomfort are so often seen as negative and unhealthy when both just happen throughout life. it's normal, even if it's scary and stressful!

it means showing up as yourself regardless of where you're at and accepting folks where they're at. doing your best, always, even if that varies and is different from someone else's best. it means being compassionate, patient, communicative, and open to real repair when conflict happens.

community involves being vulnerable and honest, and giving your care, energy, time, and attention. even when it doesn't directly benefit you, even when it may be an inconvenience. even when that person can't give back what you give. it means doing what you can, when you can, too.

✨️ thoughts on community: we need to be honest about what maintaining community means. community is messy, demanding, inconvenient, and exhausting. but it's worth it! i'm fed up of people avoiding these words bc they're afraid of being offensive, but it's the truth.

this comes as no surprise following their removal of gender neutral bathrooms in schools last year. the caq government has been very ouvert with their fascist agenda as they have made a point to target immigrants, trans folks, and anyone they deem a threat to their "culture".

meaning employees of the city of montréal, schools, and elsewhere will be forced to misgender folks who use iel (they) pronouns during their interactions.

what does it say about the caq that they have to pass laws forbidding the use of inclusive language? why meddle in someone's personal choices?

this morning, québec news outlets reported that the government of québec will ban anyone in the public sector from using inclusive french language. ex: iel (they), toustes (all), etc.
