It’s my son’s birthday so I’m treating myself to just relaxing and reading. Cause let’s face it, I did most of the work that day. 😆 #writermom

I get this all the time with YA romance. Then people pitch me ‘real stories’ to write. 🤔

Still trying to get back into the swing of things after Mardi Gras, but there’s a giveaway for my YA romcom #JustAnotherMeetCute on goodreads right now!
Only a few days left to enter! 🥰 bit.ly/4hY7uPY

Copy editors are like fairy godmothers. They also spot when dimples jump back and forth. 😂
The problem with starting a new project while polishing a finished one is that I keep mixing up the MCs’ names. 😄 Anybody else have this problem?

I’ve never quite mastered the art of catching beads. I wave my arms and yell, but I automatically duck whenever anyone throws things at me. 😂 Doesn’t stop me from going to the parades though! #MardiGras2025 #nola
My notebook collection grows. I need to start giving them away before my husband notices. 😂 #yaromance #authorlife
I think it would depend on what you’re doing at these meetings. Checking in on each other’s progress or exchanging work? Personally, I think groups about 5 or so is perfect. Any larger and not everyone can commit.
Do you do anything in person or is it strictly online? I’ve been debating on searching for a local writing group to help with the motivation.
This is great! It’s always helpful to talk to people who understand what you’re going through.
This weather is giving me whiplash. Hot tea yesterday and now snowballs. 😂
At least you’re still being creative and productive!
To write or to start a new kdrama. Decisions…decisions…
And the fact that I spent five mins just looks at kdrama gifs shows what I’m leaning toward. 😆 #kdramalover #amnotwriting
Hahah Ok, you and I are of one mind. Except I haven’t experienced that growth yet. I know it’ll make my book better and I’ll be so glad when I’m in the thick of it. But it’s the starting that always make me freeze.
Okay, small change for the month of February for what I am open to:
-Opening to illustrators
-Closing to Adult
As always, still looking for YA, particularly books that spark joy.
And if you're an author who has suddenly found themselves agentless, feel free to reach out.
Awesome! You should definitely celebrate! I know I always get super nervous whenever I get that dreaded email.
This could also be difficult because some 16-17 year olds can be super mature while others are still trying to discover who that are. I tend to write characters who are still trying to find their way in life.
But I guess that also goes for adults though. 🤷🏻♀️
Definitely!
Since I write YA, I always write characters who are a lot younger than I am. I love all the firsts my characters go through.
That being said, I am starting to feel like I’m old enough to finally try writing older characters. My two kids have aged me. 😄 #momswritersclub
That’s so exciting! 👏
The countdown starts now! 100 days until #JustAnotherMeetCute will be in bookstores! I can’t want for everyone to finally meet Nina. 🥰

Just a Wednesday night in Nola. 🥰 #Nolalife #SuperBowl
I never thought of it that way before. Definitely makes me feel better about writing all these scenes. I was worried about being repetitive.
Yes! Here’s to hoping that this will be the year!
Well, I have a YA romcom coming out in May *squeals* and while I would love to continue in that genre, I would love to also branch out to something else. Maybe adult romance.
(I know my branching out from YA romance to adult romance isn’t that much of a big leap. More like a skip and a hop.) 🥰
Did you try to read it out loud in their voices? I do that all the time. That’s also the reason why I don’t write in public anymore.
My characters always have their deepest important conversations in a car for some reason.
I don’t know why. I don’t even like to drive most of the time. #writingcommunity
Yes! Sometimes I hear about all the slang nowadays and wonder if my YA sounds teen enough. 🫤
Hello to everyone at @writingcommunity.bsky.social and Happy Lunar New Year! Wishing everyone for their best year yet!
