I don't know who needs to hear this, but you don't need to justify your reading preferences and choices to anyone. Audiobooks count as reading. Also, you don't have to finish books you don't enjoy. Don't read to impress, read for yourself. Life's too short, love yourself, ok?

I’ve seen a few posts recently arguing whether audiobooks count as reading. For me, the important thing is people are able to access books in the way that best suits them, be it ebooks, audiobooks or physical books. Some people don’t get that access at all and we that do are the lucky ones.

I’ve recommended Ninth House by Leigh Bardugo to multiple people and they all loved it, best feeling ever

I’m gonna blame it on my ADHD, I like to read before bed but sometimes I need fantasy and sometimes I need non fiction and then I listen to audiobooks when I’m doing basically anything that doesn’t require me to think lol

For me it’s getting a physical copy of books I’ve listened to and realizing all the words are spelled way different than I thought

My anxiety gets especially bad when I’m trying to sleep so I love Sleep and Sorcery. It’s very cozy, magical stories that are engaging enough to keep my mind from wandering but not so engaging that I don’t sleep

I usually have three: a physical book, a book on my ereader (usually nonfiction) and an audiobook 🙃

So far this app seems to be 90% cats and library nerds so introducing Fae and Winny, the sweet sisters who rule my life 💚
