Which main story is 'meh?'

TBF, if I didn't have hopes of being paid, my work would remain inside of my skull. Going through all the work putting it on paper means I hope to share it with other people. But if I'm going to also re-read and revise it 50 times, hire a cover artist, hire an editor, etc, I want compensation.

Everyone wants to write upsetting things. It's a way to help deal with trauma. Everyone wants their work to be read. But virtually no one wants to read a book full of upsetting things unless it has some redemption and a happy ending. And that's not odd - kids these days have enough emotional stress.

It's true, though - cats can't taste sweet. When they are after your cake, it's the fat and salt in the frosting that they like. If they eat fruit, they taste its sourness, but not its sweetness.

To be fair, there's not much doom here to scroll, if you set up your feed correctly.

My husband and I recently went to Sweden to visit his folks, and the Swedish autumn is harshly beautiful. The sun set at 4 PM, and the angle of the sun was always low.
