Holy crap, what a thread.
Holy crap, what a thread.
"if was orpheus i would simply not turn around" yes you would. if you were orpheus and you loved eurydice vou would. to love someone is to turn around. to love someone is to look at them. whichever version of the myth - he hears her stumble, he can't hear her at all he thinks he's been tricked - he turns around because he loves her. that's why it's a tragedy. because he loves her enough to save her. because he loves her so much he can't save her. because he will always, always turr around. "if i was orpheus i would simply -" you wouldn't be orpheus. vou wouldn't be brave enough tc walk into the underworld and save the person you love
I think about this post all the time
This is very cool, don't get me wrong. But isn't it wild that there's no npc vendor in Dawntrail who sells tacos? You have to hit up the MB or craft to get them, unless I somehow missed a vendor.
imagine being asked to say this after being hired to play tails from sonic. imagine being asked to say it in this tone of voice.
I'm on this album with a bunch of really cool friends! Come check it out.
I'm glad that my algorithm has dodged most of this crap, but at the same time, it's fascinating to see what nightmares other people are seeing within their own algorithms. It's a completely different world out there.
This is the part that frustrates me the most. People are letting marketing engineers control the narrative in order to save their bubble, yet regulation is desperately needed. There's nothing "inevitable" about this flavor of "progress" unless we allow it as a society.
The bees have discovered Brutalism
Fight against the cold icy grip of irrelevance by playing Magic: The Gathering with characters from The Office
Why should I write better when a machine can do it for me? Because actually no one can do it for you, because your voice is unique among all the people on earth. Siri never petted a horse's neck. Alexa has never been ghosted by the captain of the football team. But you have lived, your heart is beating, you have suffered, and you have something important to say. It's a human's job, to use words, and whatever job you give to a machine, that part of your brain goes dark. Maybe it's worth it when it comes to remembering phone numbers and directions, but when that part of your brain that uses words goes dark, that's a vast area that's very close to your soul. Don't let some internet platform convince you that what you have to say and create isn't worthwhile. Words are the echo of your soul. Honing that echo matters.
this iconic advertising copywriter named Kathy Hepinstall Parks died over the weekend and I wanted to share something from her website I thought Bluesky would like
as many of you know i did consult on Daggerheart, i feel strongly now that i need to now peel back the curtain and share some of the feedback on this otherwise excellent game that darrington press unfortunately completely ignored
The storm was a tragedy in so many ways, but I found myself super fascinated by how fast animals came in to the ruined area since their own food and shelter was gone from the storm. Definitely a strange and unique time.
(I'm against this hunt to be clear lol, just sharing an anecdote)
St Joe speed-ran this process when Michael hit. Instead of the slow move in of bears as their habitat got developed over, the storm wiped out both human and animal habitation alike. This led the bears to move in.
It was fascinating; my family down there experienced a ton of bears very quickly. 1/2
Not that we aren't in the backlash part already, to be clear, I'm just definitely curious to see which direction the culture will go.
The puritanical online trend has lived way past its life span thanks to so many factors. It's awful.
I wonder if it will finally fade as a counter culture cyclicly rises, or maybe it will go even further with the insane legislation and stuff going on? Spooky and unclear times ahead for sure.
Itβs great that every issue that could be solved by asking corporations and the wealthy to live slightly differently now involves a government being like βoh you have a small light that stays on in the bathroom? Way to fuck everything up dickheadβ

Once a week, I get a solicitation email from someone trying to drum up consultant work using the incredibly compelling pitch, "I asked ChatGPT how you should manage your business." Thanks, but I tossed some chicken bones and the way they fell tells me that I shouldn't reply to cold calls
this is my new favourite video on the internet btw
Every now and again I reflect on our Charlotte's Web GBA game we produced at Backbone. It was an action platform game that had Wilbur leaping around on platforms. We referred to it internally as "Pig of Persia," in honor of Prince of Persia, the game we absurdly based it on.
bro itβs okay that you need ai to help you write an email. anubis has weighed your soul against the feather of fate and found you unworthy. prepare to be devoured
Dodgers broadcast was discussing the science behind the perception of time between children and adults. After hearing the explanation, the color commentator pauses and asks, "Am I gonna feel any better?"
Andy Pages then smashes a dinger into space, thus ending the existential crisis on commentary.
the only way they could be clearer is by opening every single book they publish with a note that the Imperium is the absolute worst and cruelest government that has ever existed anywhere and life inside it is a ceaseless nightmare for close to 100% of its inhabitants
It's the part where someone presumably in a position of consistent income is stealing the work of someone without a consistent income that just... I think one of my eyeballs is going to pop or something.
IT'S A COMIC BOOK, YOU STUPID ROBOT PIECE OF SHIT.
