Americans are dead. Prices are skyrocketing. The Middle East is on fire. Civil war is brewing in Iran.
And for what? A war that will leave the same hardliners in charge? A war that can't actually destroy their nuclear program?
This is incompetence. Plain and simple.
Here's the guts of it: The White House press group must issue the requisite invitation to the U.S. President as it always does, even if he's working to destroy a free press. But no self-respecting journalist should fill a fucking seat. They should be elsewhere, working, trying to save the republic.

The War Powers Act SPECIFICALLY PROHIBITS military action unless: a/ there is a prior congressional authorization; or b/ it's a response to an attack against the U.S.

They went to war with Iran (which nobody in America was asking for) so they could conjure an excuse to allow ICE to keep murdering Americans and teargassing schools here at home with impunity (which nobody in America was asking for).
We have no reason whatsoever to think or believe that the people running this operation are acting 1) in good faith and 2) in any way in the interests of the people of Iran. There is no reason to put our heads down collectively and hope for the best.
