Other than the upcoming Housing Reform bill, the DHS Reform/ Appropriations bill and the October Omnibus Continuing Appropriations Bill, there’s nothing Dems could or should reasonably pass. But Trump & GOP would get blamed right before the 2026 election lol! Well played Trump! /s

I don’t actually care as much about the top line number (which is understandably driven by Dems), but that number with Indies is brutal!

PA Bucks County guy who sees a lot to like in a Shapiro 2028 campaign. His 2028 campaign DEPENDS on winning a trifecta this November so he can pass some key state center-left/ prog priorities (Minimum Wage Boost, Universal Pre-K, Childcare, LGBTQ Civil Rights, Legal Weed) to assure his left flank!

Dude, can you take down this post? I normally love your takes (and get the gist of it) but this is actually something in pretty poor taste, especially cause I have friends who lost loved ones at the Twins Towers. Maybe I’m “soft” but this misses the mark.

With Burgess Owens, Wesley Hunt, John James and Byron Donalds all retiring from congress (and no clear Black GOP primary leaders in open races), there will be no Black Republicans in the next congress!

I’ve been concerned about Michigan Senate only cause I worry El-Sayed could win the primary and potentially sink that seat. But I think McMorrow ultimately wins the primary and ends up winning decisively over Mike Rogers

Completely agree with this! I am very much encouraged that Crockett conceded as quickly as she did. If I were Talarico, my first step would be to go aggressively with Crockett to fight the Dallas voting nonsense AND campaign for Allred in the primary runoff to soothe primary political wounds.

Yeah the news sites won’t call it until more E-Day vote comes in… but there are signs in some places like Galveston that the E-Day vote is slightly more Pro-Talarico. Really is horrible that the GOP, Paxton & SC is doing these shenanigans in Dallas though!

Eh the E-Day vote is expected to be more young and Latino, demographics which have clearly favored Talarico. It’s callable at this point

Yeah this election is callable and Crockett really shouldn’t put in too much to fight this for her race but her and Talarico need to band together to fight for local Dallas races! Abhorrent stuff by Texas GOP & Supreme Court!

Yeah he called this way too early as the Dallas Early vote hadn’t come in… but Crockett had a brutal result of only winning by 20 and she really needed to win by 40 or 50. Even with the E-Day vote shenanigans, I think this race is callable for Talarico now 15 minutes after his too early call

NOW I think we can call it! I know you’re probably waiting on some more E-Day vote but she needed to outperform Talarico in Dallas by more than Talarico did in Travis. Brutal result for Crockett!

There is no frontrunner right now. Shapiro hasn’t made push to campaign for 28. He’s prioritizing getting Dem Trifecta at end of 26, pass prog priorities in 27 to sell well w/ broad Dem Primary base in 28 (Legal Weed, $15 Min Wage, Enshrine Abortion & LBGTQ Rights, Childcare, Pre-K, College Funding)

I just heard from Rick Wilson on The Lincoln Project say that their House 2026 Model today shows GOP losing 43 seats, ie Dems would go from 215 to 258!!! I take this with a huge grain of salt but that would lead to VERY weird results (2008 Dems *ONLY* won 256 seats with last of the Dixiecrats!)

TBF to Hudson, it sounds like he REALLY wants to excise Gonzales but can’t get ahead of Johnson on this just yet & is stuck. Problem is Johnson objectively a weak, cowardly speaker and doesn’t have the confidence to oppose Trump on this even as it’s his authority to lead on this! Feckless Clowns!

The concept of citizenship in 18th Century was radical, emergent and rapidly evolving, which many Founders understood clearly. Much of Constitution and Bill of Rights was intentionally written broadly and unresolved to allow for key flexibility, while trying to bulwark against authoritarianism!

Yeah the giveaway that this is Anti-Semitism vs Anti-Conservative/ Likudism is that they put “scary red” overtones Ossoffs donations from Liberal/ Progressive Pro-Israel/ Pro- Two State groups of DFMI, JAC and J Street. Super gross!

So I vote in this district. He’s gonna be a much tougher out than many GOP reps sitting in redder seats (especially cause he voted against OBBB). But the November 2025 Bucks County elections were brutal for GOP, the enviro is worse for GOP now, & Harvie is best opponent Fitz has faced. Pure Tossup!
