May the odds be ever in your favor!
My kids are in college now, but that was a harrowing annual experience! I would create a multi-tab spreadsheet to plan which camps to sign up for, in order, taking into account when it ran, kid preference, friends, pickup time, cost, likelihood of an openingβ€¦πŸ€―

The UC Davis Arboretum is just gorgeous right now. Wherever you are, I hope you are enjoying spring as much as these turtles are. 🐒🐒🐒

Agar art in which β€œmicrobiophile” is spelled out in a rainbow of colors surrounding a blue bacterium with pink flagella. The colors are strains of E. coli carrying fluorescent chromoproteins of different colors, painted onto agar plates and incubated overnight at 37C.

That extra day at room temp made a big difference in the vibrancy of the colors!
I can’t see a difference between the green (letters I and O) and yellow (letters C & P), though. Do you have a good green strain?

If anyone is hiring a technician, I’ve got a great candidate. I wish I could hire her myself! She’s got the grit, she knows how to hustle, and she does publication quality work. Lots of molecular biology, protein, and cell culture experience. Please DM me if you are interested.

For some people able to vote that is true. But there has been a very active & deliberate effort to make it more difficult for disadvantaged people (poor, person of color, people with disabilities, etc) to vote. Many live there who are victims of a system they didn’t choose & cannot leave.

This is an amazing tool. It not only shows improvement is possible πŸ’ͺ when there is a will πŸ‘¨πŸ½β€πŸ€β€πŸ‘¨πŸ» πŸ‘‘ but also how desperately some parts of the world need their leaders to focus on reducing pollution (eg look at Qatar’s level 🀯 )
