My kids are in college now, but that was a harrowing annual experience! I would create a multi-tab spreadsheet to plan which camps to sign up for, in order, taking into account when it ran, kid preference, friends, pickup time, cost, likelihood of an opening…🤯

Agar art in which “microbiophile” is spelled out in a rainbow of colors surrounding a blue bacterium with pink flagella. The colors are strains of E. coli carrying fluorescent chromoproteins of different colors, painted onto agar plates and incubated overnight at 37C.

That extra day at room temp made a big difference in the vibrancy of the colors!
I can’t see a difference between the green (letters I and O) and yellow (letters C & P), though. Do you have a good green strain?

For some people able to vote that is true. But there has been a very active & deliberate effort to make it more difficult for disadvantaged people (poor, person of color, people with disabilities, etc) to vote. Many live there who are victims of a system they didn’t choose & cannot leave.
