In my U.S. Civil Rights Movements class, we spend a lot of time thinking about historical memory. When movements get reduced to a few iconic leaders, the collective labor that made change possible disappears from view. It also obscures an important lesson: collective action is effective & difficult.
It's like they read a book about the Gilded Age and thought, wow, we should do all of this again -- tariffs and trade wars, massive corporate power, white supremacy and immigration fights, a creepy sex panic and, of course, unlimited acts of brazen corruption and graft.
Trump ripped up the Iran nuclear deal and created this mess. Now, he's putting servicemembers in harm's way with no clear plan and no Congressional approval. The American people deserve answers — and Congress needs to do its job.

I argue here that Trump already has key national security agencies--DOJ, FBI, CIA--involved in the plot to subvert free and fair elections in 2026 and 2028. Teed up behind them are DOD and, importantly, DHS. One reason today's fight against ICE is so crucial.
