I loved this song, though I haven't heard much else from this band! I used to love listening to it on DC 101

The people who say "the US iS too big for train travel", seem to be unaware there already is a network of passenger rail btw most major cities.
It has issues with speed and reliability mainly from being forced to share tracks with freight (itself an argument for trains), that is a solvable problem.
Remember that Pennsylvania legislators couldn't care less that SEPTA and most agencies in Pennsylvania have massive budget deficits and are on the brink of major service reductions. The mindset: just raise the fares dramatically (& privatize) to cover the full cost of operations with no subsidy. π
Thankfully we have so many outstanding coffee shops in Pittsburgh! I definitely need to make it out for one of the Give Up rides to the coffee shop
Aggressive driver aside, a taco bike tour sounds amazing! π€©π€© We sadly don't have great tacos in #Pittsburgh though π«
Hmm- that's a good idea! I actually haven't used Turo yet myself. I wonder how much easier it would be as a customer compared to the rental car office
I've been on the fence of getting a car again for a while. I don't want the stresses and extreme expenses of car ownership again, but the alternate systems (car rental, Amtrak, Greyhound, Zipcar) have been essentially unusable lately. Where's the balance when I don't NEED a car for daily use?

Oh wow! This still is very European styled. I wonder how the Seattle and NYC battery electric bus orders may change from this design. #Solaris #Vancouver #Trolleybus
That is very intriguing! But then what if there are pairing issues, or worse (?), someone accidentally validates their fare for a passing bus they don't wish to ride? π€
That's my life long dream! π€© At least for home lines I would regularly ride.
I almost experienced that with the 87 when I was able to commute during rush hour when it ran every 8 minutes, but that was a shortly lived experience
I've lived most my life in places where 30 service is considered good and "frequent", compared to the base hourly (or worse) service.
Even with #Pittsburgh PRT's Bus Line Refresh they are dubbing 20 frequency as their "frequent" service network. π It's better than hourly at least!
The first time I've been pleased to see a "Bike Lane Ends" sign.
I wish there had been a better option to this that was chosen. On a fun note, at the Philly Home Expo there's a group that encourages bike touring of Jamaica.

We also need to call out anti-bag policies as well. When places don't let me bring in bags, what are we supposed to do, just leave them on our bike full of stuff? Those of us on bikes don't have the luxury of a locked steel cage to store stuff like drivers do.

I think today's DC Metro may do this today. At least on the Metrorail
That's an incredible increase in MPG! Which is great, though I'm wondering if the gains will be negated by the amount of new daily drivers, plus additional suburban and exurban sprawl, along with reduced transit alternatives.
If you hear a politician claim there really IS a βwar on carsβ in your city hall (and we donβt mean in an ironic way, like @thewaroncars.bsky.social does it), you have full and enthusiastic permission to steal @brenttoderian.bsky.socialβs reply below. #UrbanTruth
I wonder how much worse it would be these days compared to back in the 70s? Especially since we stopped supporting EVs as much as we used to
One thing I retained from crossing guard training is that kids will dart after something before considering the surroundings first. That why we need to be careful when driving around kids.
Can we just stop putting all the onus on road safety on children & hold licensed motorists responsible?
