It also took me approximately 3 months to finish Old Time Religion by E.H Lupton for attention span reasons but that to is also superb.

Guys. I feel like if the hardcover has discussion questions then its vered into give this to a high school English class land.
It is a very point for point retelling with very little outside the rigid structure it has stuck to. Which at least on audio works because medieval epic poetry was all an oral tradition. So that's at least neat
This book has 3 different pov styles. Second person present, third person limited and first person with this last being almost the most jarring as it at least on audio is tonally different because it is also in verse while the rest of the book is prose!
As a romance retelling Wolf and His King is rather disappointing. As a modern interpretation (with a sponging of homosexuality) of a piece of french medieval epic poetry its probably brilliant to the folks who want to do a English class presentation on it
To be honest I think they sometimes forget Worcester. I have access to the commuter rail but its more out of the way and stresses me out so it becomes just easier to drive ๐คท๐ปโโ๏ธ. But I will happily meander the green line all day long
Going to the BSO the the end of the month for the first time which means dressing up because I want to be flirty and pretty. New dress arrives today and and I am very excited
I made it halfway through the manga a couple of years ago and if I had found it in high school when I found Fushigi Yugi I'd probably been absolutely feral over it.
Maybe they'll also tone down the Fushigi Yugi level of constant assaults on the heroine.

Spring is here and that means mud season walks
I blame audible and the publishers. I've run into a few times and out of spite I've just put myself on a long library wait list because it was also expensive for libraries
cropped preview of a digital artwork showing two women, a painter and her muse. In in the main scene, the painter is leaning forward to brush some hair away from the muse's face. In the frame, the painter is kissing the muse's face as she pulls forward a curtain.

Thank you again @taplingzines.bsky.social for having me!
One library system in my state has the audio and I am in the second tier queue for it because I refuse to use audible for it out of spite
The publisher for The Wolf and His King apparently doesnt like libraries as the audio costs $100 and BPL was like nah friend. And I don't have hoopla audio anymore and they also don't like libro because I cant use a credit until April.
The dress I wanted to wear to the fancy orchestra concert doesnt fit. So now I need to find a new spring dress

10 year old girl wanting to check out a book on careers so I asked her what she wanted to be and she said graphic illustrator and I got to tell her about a cool program we are having in April and then all about MICE. Her dad was even very excited
My therapist today said that despite several incredibly annoying things happening, I didn't sound anxious, and I told her I was too tired and cranky today to be anxious ๐

*Most* fruit if freshly picked and not from the supermarket tastes better. Supermarket fruit is the fruit variety that shipped best not what tastes best. I hated cherries until I had fresh cherries in Montana. Blueberries are another good example of shipped vs taste
It did not matter that I shoveled the front step at 10pm, 4:30am and 6:30am the winds just drifted it all back
Fun with maps. Went to a paper marbling class today and used some old maps. Purple is New England and Eastern Canada in a circumpolar color vibe and the other two are Eastern Europe and Russia in a color scheme of Soviet Block State Flags
