Hi, I am trying to access a manuscript held at the (Greek Orthodox) Jerusalem Patriarchal library. I wrote and received no response. Does anyone have experience with this library or know someone I can contact, please?

Photo of snowy mountains near Bergen under a cloudy sky. Bonus photo for the post, unconnected to the text.
Book manuscript submitted. More to come soon but happy to have got this far with my pre-battle speech project.
Iβve been walking up in the mountains and have now come down.

Quote: βJudith uses a legal concept of responsibility in her address to the leaders of Bethulia. She claims that, should Bethulia surrender, her audience will be responsible for the murder of those in Jerusalem. This is based on a legal notion that can be summarized thus: a person has a degree of responsibility to prevent the murder of others." βJoseph Scales

Does anyone have access to the American Journal of Archaeology? My ICS membership doesn't give me online access to the more recent volumes, and I really don't want to have to spend a day/Β£20 getting a train into London to see their physical copy of 129.2. I miss institutional access...

This is a deliberate strategy, likely for coordination and having a trigger for any escalation. Iβd assume that itβs also a statement to any who may invade that UK forces are deployed and will enter a war. It may be directed at the US, or perhaps meets Trumpβs baseless point about DK protecting GL

Snowy town and sunlight on mountains behind the city. Clear blue sky over all.
End of week one and I think itβs safe to say I like it here. Will try to post more about research once things are fully in gear, but you can have one more view.

Photo of T&T Clark Handbook of Hellenistic Jewish Literature in Greek on otherwise empty bookshelves.
This arrived, just in time to be packed up for moving. My chapter on the Apocryphon of Ezekiel argues that it was not a single composition in antiquity, and it mostly made up of independent short sayings. Thanks to the editor Marieke Dhont and @tandtclark.bsky.social for publishing.
Happy new year
