The days when even the most basic of tasks feels like the straw that broke the camel’s back, sometimes I just come back to this.
Having accidentally opened the Duolingo app, I now submit myself to the abasement and guilt-tripping notifications and emails of everyone welcoming me back to my learning journey. This won’t make me avoid it even more after having fallen off the wagon, not at all. 🙃
Bronze with goldstone—needed to adjust the size for a customer. So glad it will be wearable now.
By naming it, I’m not condoning it. I’m just not surprised. This applies to all the universities that dropped their DEI programs and to recent FB changes. It’s a sobering reminder of priorities.
Law departments of companies exist to evaluate the tides, push them how they can, and make just enough changes that regulators assure them they will not be targeted. With this culture, it is not at all surprising that many businesses fall into the chasm of compliance-in-advance to fascist regimes.
When I note that corporations are strategically repositioning themselves to be the most palatable for an incoming right-wing chaos term, it’s just a fact, not an excuse. It’s compliance-in-advance, which has always been a virtue in the Corporate America.
Rice krispy treat pan with a little candle in the middle
This year, the adults were all sick for my annual celebration of sun revolutions. So a pan of Rice Krispy treats with a candle was prepared by my kids.
Picked up this book as well: my list grows ever longer. I can’t help myself; I’m an aspirational reader.
One custom order done; working on two others.
Food things I did!
Seems like a “why not both?” situation
Honestly, I’d forgotten BlueSky existed. I feel very “man yells at cloud” about social media lately, but also this is a cocoon year. Be right back; turning into goo.
It screams “serk with no smokkr” to me.
Just got my checked blue linen, as found in Hedeby Grave 27/1963, and it is delightful. This photo is in terrible light. I thought it had gone lost in the mail. #vikingagereenactment
We turned on the heat because we are having company.
It’s the Apprentice, Jump The Shark season.
New book arrived today, hot off the presses! Looking forward to it!
This time, the photo!
Thank you soooo much for your guidance and patience. Heres a photo of the linen piece cut from the pattern I made. Hopefully I did it with the grain. I didn’t have enough to do the full gores so I’ll have to piece them together. 🫣
I took twelve hours of sewing class this weekend which feels like an odd thing to say but also was very empowering! I can make my own clothes now. I am not impossible to teach sewing to.
Latest from me: I talk about the need for community self-defense projects, a necessary piece of supporting marginalized communities and any revolutionary project to remake the world. But that defensive work starts with mutual aid and community accountability. www.yesmagazine.org/social-justi...
Oooh a new Saga Thing to throw amidst my current obsessive revolution podcast stream.
@totalusrankium.bsky.social
I recommend the podcast Totalus Rankium: American Presidents for the same reason: it has always been like this. But that doesn’t mean sit back and wait, either.
We don’t need astrology, Starlink interference or voter fraud conspiracy to explain the election. The fix has been in over decades of education defunding, rise in authoritarianism across the world, climate crisis terror, and capitalist disinterest in uplifting truth over profit. 🤷🏻♀️
