Hey Philly!
I need your help finding 3 walls for 10x10ft murals this fall all about the most charismatic bugs in the city.
Each mural must be in a different neighborhood, so we have to cast this net as wide as possible.
Please help us spread the word!

We fostered Catalina for almost a year. We spent a lot of time wishing someone would adopt her and give her a new forever home. Little did we know that that was our home. We miss her and hope she is enjoying a sunbeam...wherever she is. Thanks again to all for sharing her story. 3/3
We even got to be reunited during the snowstorm. But at the beginning of last week while at the adoption center, she got sick. She navigated a final illness under the loving care of another foster and PAWS. 2/3

Thank you again to everyone who helped share Catalina's story. I'm sorry to report that she recently died under the compassionate care of Philly PAWS. Catalina had been transferred to an adoption center a few weeks ago to help her get more visibility. She was doing well. 1/3

bee balm poster is back at it, but now on a column in a park covered in posters
The 2026 native plant project is up and running!
We have 10 seed distribution stations set up all around the city, each thanks to a volunteer poster hoster.
This project was made possible by monthly donors to @skypeascientist.bsky.social and people who bought calendars from SquidFacts.net!
A stunning and beautiful piece of writing from my friend @aearls.bsky.social. At @nursingclio.bsky.social today:
time to go write down some opinions about building energy codes π
Interested in the history of enslaved people, Black history, and George Washington?
Download this report, which is still on the NPS site (for now).
My research team spent 3 years collaborating with descendants of people enslaved at the Washington's Headquarters site and the wonderful NPS staff:
Signs about the history of slavery in the U.S. and the 9 people George Washington enslaved are being removed right now at the Presidentβs House Site in Philadelphia, across from Independence Hall, months after the Trump administration threatend to do so.
How far we have not come in 250 years.
So much good art was made at bad art for good. I donβt know who made this (was it you??) but I love it so much.

Thank you so much. I agree. She is a great buddy. :)
Update! Catalina is now at the PAWS Old City adoption center. I dropped her off today. It was hard to say goodbye. We've been together almost a yr. But I am hopeful this will give her more visibility and that someone will adopt her soon. THANK YOU to all who have helped promote her. Stay safe.
My long time friend is facilitating a workshop in Philly. Join her!
For sure. I know we won't have enough, so looking to supplement.
Ah! I buy this brand at Mom's when they carry it (spring and summer). @wearegonnafindout.bsky.social

Thank you so much!
Hi, Erin! Do you have a favorite potting soil? I'm getting ready to winter sow. #NativePlants
Iβm facilitating the rehoming of two sweet cats who belonged to a friend who recently passed unexpectedly. They deserve a stable place to land. 2-3 year old bonded pair, one male one female. Please send me a DM if you have the interest and ability to care for these sweet voids. Located in Oakland.
Thanks to everyone who liked and re-posted about our foster cat Catalina. We really appreciate it! Happy New Year.
Thank you so much! :-)
