I feel like it was. It is unusual to unprecedented to remove every rider off of a float in the middle of a parade and it happened twice.

One year while riding I had a lady yell at me that her taxes paid for my throws, so yeah, I think there's some misconceptions out there.
I became an expert in curling in seven days and so can you.
About the throws: I was part of a krewe 14 YEARS AGO where we tried phasing out beads, for all the reasons. We removed them from the mandatory throw packages, but we couldn't stop riders from loading the float with upcycled beads. Most riders want to throw *something* the whole time. Throws are $$$.

It feels like we're at an inflection point. Riders are stingy, drunk or both. Spectators are selfish and rude. NOPD is mean and tired. Pauses between floats and stops are common. So are fights.
