Okay
Okay
It’s really weird to observe in real-time the transformation of a word into an antonym of itself. How long has this been happening re: the word “transparency”? Is the transformation complete?
"You can only be decent because we are horrible" is a very, very popular line of thinking among horrible people.
Can confirm. It works.
the "just asking questions" to "legitimate questions about fairness in sports" to "the state doesn't have to consider us as real people" pipeline working exactly as designed.
Ever notice how the only time you hear someone say that we should keep politics out of [x activity or art form], it's when they definitely know that their politics are abhorrent, that they're stubbornly on the wrong side of something?
Or any night. Especially if the moon is full.
They did a show late last year with the Chicago Philharmonic & it was bonkers. Instantly made me “get” the new record in a way I hadn’t yet.
I noticed a film crew there. Hopefully you’ll be able to see what I mean one of these days.
Demanding PTA articulate his politics verbally after watching OBAA seems a bit like listening to “Killing in the Name” & then demanding an essay on the topic of police killings from RATM.
Like… he just said it, weren’t you listening?
Did a double take ‘cause this guy looks so much like Louis Lingg aka obviously the hottest of the Haymarket 8. I mean come on:
i’ve never watched a state of the union, i’m certainly not going to start NOW
This is what you do.
All invitees to the State of the Union should do the same, for example.
It’s truly remarkable. Deal-with-the-devil type shit.
just fyi if the SAVE act passes i will not be able to vote (cause: transgender)
This is very exciting news! Both on the creative front & on the Continued Survival of Chad front. 🖤
I am enjoying this. Sometimes you can judge the thing by the cover.

Please note that this guidance has now changed. This new guidance supersedes the blanket approval we shared last week. The U.S. Government will not be commemorating World AIDS Day this year. To comply with this new directive, please note the following: •USG funds should not be used for any World AIDS Day-related events or commemorative activities. • Please refrain from publicly promoting World AIDS Day through any communication channels, including social media, media engagements, speeches, or other public-facing messaging. • CDC and other USG personnel may attend external, locally organized World AIDS Day events, but may not speak at these events or promote their attendance via social media or media channels. We recognize this updated guidance differs from the blanket clearance and may require adjustments to planned activities. Thank you for vour flexibility and attention to these changes
Today is World AIDS Day.
AIDS has killed 44 million people globally.
Over the years, we've learned that silence and stigma are huge contributors.
Yet, the State Department sent an email to employees stating “The US Government will not be commemorating World AIDS Day this year.”
Silence = Death
I hate the term "hallucinate" vis a vis false AI outputs. It's another way we're being primed to view it as a mind way before it's proven to be anything but a product. Human hallucinations are not "real" but they're not false in the way that wrong facts are. Anyone read anything good on this theme?
Okay.
...or better yet, you can just have the files. Burn it to a CD, jam it on yr phone, whatever!

Saxophone has to be the instrument that I most often mistakenly hear as a human voice for a sec.
this week's post is something i've been thinking about for a long time. it's called "all of us imperfect comrades: or, an army of fuckups cannot lose"

Just learned that it was Alfred Nobel (of the Prize fame) who invented dynamite!
Very very cool. Love the brief “scribbly” moments!
You may recall when gentleman and scholar @imleor.bsky.social wrote about Chicago artists dumping Spotify last month. Fortunately, telling Daniel Ek to go fuck himself appears to be contagious! Solidarity to these musicians, and may their movement continue to grow. chicagoreader.com/music/gossip...
