๐ฐ๐๐ CDR is most likely needed for the climate to comply with the 1.5C target. Beneath NCS and land use change, technological and bio-technical solutions are promising. Solar PV may play a key role for optimization even in unexpected places such as Iceland. @christianonre.bsky.social @lut.fi
This is important! To savely reach 1.5C we do not have any CO2 budget left, while low likelihood budget is also not plenty. @christianonre.bsky.social
Are these all full length research articles? Papers in IEEE journals are often relatively short. And what is the average peer-review time?
As always, it would be better to differentiate between fossil CCS, CCU, and CDR. Carbon capture as umbrella term is not suitable for this discussion.

This would be true for a current policy scenario. Our study does not do this - but rather deploys a best policy scenario: Massive investments in renewable energy, net-zero emission system by 2050 and subsequent removal of 500 GtCO2 for 1.5ยฐC and 1750 GtCO2 for 1.0ยฐC by 2100.
