This reminds me of an old book by Robert Nathan called “The Weans”.
A satirical book written from the perspective of an archeologist from the future, who finds remnants of a people who called themselves Us (the U.S.), hence “We-ans”.

Let’s hear from the person who pushed for wars in the middle east for decades, but has now changed his mind because he’s embarrassed by Trump. Still focused on monetizing his wrong opinions and telling everyone to listen to him because he’s smarter than they are. Live Sunday.
No problem, sure thing, no worries- these are less formal and a way of fighting back against authority and the structured formality of previous generations and expectations.
It signifies that the help was not an inconvenience in a slang and less formal way of communicating.
It is both generational and cultural. Historically in the U.S. it was expected that someone would help you, hence “you are welcome”.
Later generations, starting with GenX, rejected that framing and began to take back that control, and started using different words than “you’re welcome”.

Thank you means “thank you for your efforts”.
You’re welcome means “you are welcome to have my efforts”.
No problem/worries means “it was not a big deal that I gave you my efforts”. This brings the control back to the person giving their efforts. It is not owed, it is given.
Because “you are welcome” implies “you are welcome for my efforts”, that you are owed my efforts. It is not just a bit of politesse, it is a cultural hierarchy. It’s generational, sure. No problem/worries detaches it from that hierarchy.
And I’m an elder GenX. Old and young people annoy me. 🤣
That’s the same problem that others have with You’re welcome. With “you’re welcome”, it feels like something is owed to the person saying thank you. No problem and no worries means, it was not an issue to do the thing you said thank you for. Like “de nada”.

and
No worries <> You’re welcome

And same goes for the ex-Republicans who lead us, actively, to this moment and are now embarrassed by Trump and say they stand against things that they previously supported with all their might.
Interesting coming from the guy who gave tech bros a blank check, supports crypto, and is feted by billionaires. Accountability is *the* most critical aspect of the next administration, but I want Dems who helped get us here to acknowledge their role otherwise I don't trust a fucking word.
One might think that Ken Martin’s “good billionaires” are not interested in this type of investment.
There is plenty of money for this, though it would impact many Dem consultants and elected Dems who are multi-millionaires, along with Dem know-it-alls like George Clooney.

I think these types of problems that you highlight are only going to continue to increase in number as we feel more impacts from climate change in different areas.
The American people electing Trump after he staged a coup attempt 5 years ago was a nail in the coffin of our democracy. You can rationalize it all you want - But inflation! But wokeness! - but ultimately it was a societal suicide attempt and probably the dumbest collective voting decision ever made
