We have women who can't stand up for themselves and men who don't have any respect for what the women might be capable of. Each woman represents an aspect of 'female society' such that none of them is really whole.

I think the point is that we're not supposed to like them. They are the product of a foppish society that is so selfish, ignorant, and haughty that the people don't know how to relate to each other and hence can't function without someone showing or telling them how to behave.

It's the most biting satire but my least favorite because there isn't one character to like.
