Augustine would be surprised that people could enjoy his company.

I generally work on the basis that if there is room for interpretation/it's not explored in the game, y'know, go ham. Things that are directly there in game content explicitly you'll need to au or work to explain.

You know what I am all for respecting head canons, but a) that respect has to go both ways and b) when they outright contradict the actual content in canon which is absolutely available please at least acknowledge it's an au or OOC take. You can HC "actually Gale hates cooking" but accept it's OOC.

I realise this snippet might look harsher than it was in context 😂 but sometimes a man needs to be told his unfair, harsh opinion of himself is nonsense.

Augustine doesn't curse, and quite intently avoids it.
On the very rare occasions he does it is for a particular emphasis (he apologised preemptively to @itsnad.bsky.social Rae about this just yesterday).
Dolly on the other hand can be as coarse as sandpaper at the cussin' factory.

His cool head under pressure, steady, dextrous hands and decisive nature is what makes him so good at this. A decade of tireless work and trying to fight death in a very physical way strengthened this, but in truth Augustine simply *does*.
It's this quality that also makes him a good leader.

Obvious answer but medicine.
Augustine's medical knowledge is a bit ahead, and probably seems fairly radical in a setting where healthcare is so reliant on magic/clerics. Whilst he's a general practitioner - his particular strength is emergency/trauma care.
He invents his own devices, even.

Augustine's voice.
I'm proud of his complexity how he's developed from where we started in suprising ways - but his perspective, how he speaks and articulates and cuts through the world is I think a distinct aspect of him.
He knows who he is.
I hope conversation with him is interesting.
