SECRET WINDOW, SECRET GARDEN - STEPHEN KING
Much better than I remember the film being. I often find that the unreliable narrator trope can easily fall flat, but this one didn't. John Shotter got really under my skin, but Mort isn't exactly a shining star either. Good fun!

THE LANGOLIERS - STEPHEN KING
An airport thriller both literally and figuratively, The Langoliers is a great example of King's ability to build a memorable cast, have one of those cast members be completely bonkers, and yet it still feel captivating. Nerve-wracking storytelling!
π¦Ύ Announcing KILLSWITCH PROTOCOL, the sci-fi debut from our very own @mjkuhnbooks.bsky.social!!! π¦Ύ
Enter a neon-drenched cyberpunk world of black market cybernetics, corporate overreach, and high-stakes action.
Launching JULY 7, 2026 in paperback, hardcover and eBook! (Audiobook TBD)
Concentrated doses of cruelty, discomfort, and sorrow, written as well as one would expect, whilst I have no doubt @ronaldmalfi.bsky.social can handle 1000 pages, We Should Have Left Well Enough Alone, goes to show he is equally capable of making you just as uneasy in 10.

We are thrilled to share that Titan Books will be publishing INCARNATE, a terrifying modern reimagining of Oscar Wildeβs The Picture of Dorian Gray for the internet age, by the award winning @almakatsu.bsky.social! π±π€
Coming October 2026!
I read 200 pages of this 390 page book, only for it to *just* get near to where the plot should have been from the very beginning. I hate DNF'ing, but sometimes you just have to call it quits on something.
May have unfortunately found my first DNF in about 18 months. Going to stick with it for one more chapter (approx. 30 pages), but it's 100% a case of "it's me, not you".
I thought this read was going to be one thing, but for the most part, it has been something completely different.

LOST IN THE DARK - JOHN LANGAN
John's most varied collection that I've read so far, and coincidentally, also my favourite of his! Lost In The Dark; Natalya, Queen of the Hungry Dogs; Breakwater; Alice's Rebellion; Snakebit; the list goes on, but all such great stories!

DEATHWORLDER - VICTORIA HAYWARD
An action movie in novel form, literally action scene after action scene, with some really decent alien biology horror goodness mixed in. Think James Cameron's Aliens but with a quest narrative. So much bug smashing fun!

The Buffalo Hunter Hunter is what happens when you strip vampire lore to the bone and rebuild it from the ground up. Dense, bloody, unforgettable. @sgj.bsky.social best yet

GHOSTMAKER - DAN ABNETT
Made up of several vignettes following the various squad members of the Tanith First & Only, this is peak 40K character writing. All stories lead to a climactic final battle! Loved learning about this soldiers. Favourite stories were Larkin's, Bragg's, and Milo's!
Loved this
A dark book, full of humour that cuts as deep as the weapons that litter its pages & a magic system to die for
Azreal the Wretched -the bastard love child of John Constantine and John Wick.
Grimdark has a new kid on the block
Get a copy asap itβs out 24th Feb
A novel muted by design βWe Spread,β by Iain Reid is not a book I felt the urge to hurl bodily into the nearest oxfam, but nor did it consume me in the way Reidβs best work has. I liked it well enough.

Another #SPFBOXI review complete!
Shadow of the Sword by C.J.R. Isely is an enjoyable, traditional fantasy adventure with strong character dynamics and plenty of swordplay.
Cover art for The Gates of Azyr by Chris Wraight
THE GATES OF AZYR - CHRIS WRAIGHT
Just a collection of proper nouns stitched together into the rough form of a story. It felt like it was there to set a stage for something else, and not to tell a tale with pesky things like Characters or Plot to get in the way.
Good Morning, fellow kids!
Today I review ON SUNDAYS SHE PICKED FLOWERS, Yah Yah Scholfield's debut novel involving haints and haunted houses. In short, it's absolutely brilliant and I'd highly recommend it!

"The book was great BUT THE BOX WAS 2 FUCKING BIG!! 1 STAR WOOD NOT RECCCCOMENDED!!!"
So dumb isnt it?!
Saw a 1-star review of a book 2 in a trilogy today, which read:
"Dear Author,
After reading your first book, I went ahead and bought this sequel only to realize you're planning to squeeze even more out of your readers with a third instalment. Well⦠this is where I get off!"
Stupidest review ever?
How is Nigel Farage, the loathsome toad of a man, still in the news constantly? He was a laughing stock not that long ago. Have people really forgotten just how much of a lying cunt he is?!
