Itβs taking me almost a month to buy a car. First it was the insurance and now I just found out that my registration is suspended because of insurance lapse. Iβm impatiently waiting for the DMV to contact me. Iβll update as things proceed. But least to say, itβs been a harrowing experience!
I never thought of property clusters through the lens of class nominalism but I feel like there is a meaningful analogy between universals/properties and natural kinds/arbitrary kinds.
Iβve been thinking of changing the topic of a chapter in my dissertation (race and SPC) and the new topic Iβm pondering about is the naturalness of natural kinds. Iβm rereading Lewisβ βNew work for a theory of universalsβ after 10+ years and whoa! Itβs a totally different paper than I remembered!
But I was being hyperbolic, I must admit. I love research. I have gushed about being in love with research somewhere else. I will try to express the joy of research from now on instead of being inverse-hypocritical sourpuss about it.
I confided to a friend I met at the summer school that I hate reading and writing, though Iβm a phd student and my entired self worth lies in becoming a professional philosopher.
Just came back from Dusseldorf, Germany where HHU P3 was held for five days. Five days of jamming philosophy into my brain, migling with cool grad students, networking with amazing Catherine Kendig, and galavanting in the city of Dusseldorf. Truly unforgettable summer school!
