Every single one of these books is amazing, but very specifically The Future of Another Timeline is a book that I have never stopped thinking about and if you have not read it you should and you will also get a gazillion other incredible reads along with it.
In this particular context it's clear they were absolutely terrified of MeToo because they were aware of the consequences they would face if their sins were ever revealed.
They *knew* what they were doing was wrong. That's why they *manufactured* hysteria around it. It was purposeful propaganda.
