I like NotebookLM and think it's cool to use for #genealogy. But the videos sometimes have the vibe that they are using MadLibs to create them...filing in the blanks with a details from the submitted docs.

For those who could not get enough of full-text search, we're giving a new presentation on using it. #genealogy
Our approach is hands-on, practical, and not distracted by every shiny thing. Details are at genealogytipoftheday.com/index.php/20...
Not sure why my #ancestry page is in two languages. #genealogy
I've been researching since the early 1980s.
But remember it's not how long you've researched your #genealogy. It's whether you've tried to up your game and improve your skills that matters.

NotebookLM's videos are fun to watch, but they all have that same fake feeling--at least to me. The content of the last one (created from a probate file) wasn't bad-only it said deceased was 1 of 8 children and also survived by 8 siblings. #genealogy
MRCA stands for:
1--My Relatives Can Argue
2--Most Researchers Can't Analyze
3--Most Recent Common Ancestor
It's number 3, but....sometimes I wonder about 1 and 2.

Really excited for #Genealogy Quick Start TV tonight (live on FB or YouTube at 8 PM Easter--search for it). We'll be talking about my oft-married ancestor Barbara. This great infographic was generated by NotebookLM and I won't be using it tonight, but it's too cool not to share. Join us tonight.
It feels like this sometimes. Ancestors in the witness protection program from the 19th century. #genealogy
Sometimes "I heard" is an excuse for "I'm too lazy to look it up."
It's spelled "cremated" not "creamated."
My cat does a better job of answering that question.
Thirty years ago, hearing someone repeatedly say "Can I talk to a human? Can I talk to a human? Can I talk to a human" would mean they were having some mental challenges.
But now it just means they are on the phone with customer service.
Getting outside your "bubble of personal experience" can help you #genealogy research, but it would also go a long way to solving so many problems.
When the death certificate says "medical records" as informant, it's difficult to know exactly who provided the information--unless you KNOW who provided the information for the records. #genealogy
Agreed! I don't share ones with living people for obvious reasons, but I want to maximize the chance the photos are available as long as possible and sharing helps that to happen.
I've had them be used by others in their Ancestry tree or posted to FindAGrave. I usually put an identification footer on the image and that I don't like being cut off, but otherwise I really don't care if they are shared again.
If you share old family photos online, how do you feel about others using those photos without crediting you? As long as they are identified correctly, it really doesn't bother me. #genealogy
I don't really care anymore if people use AI to write or not. It's not like I (or anyone else) is really going to stop it. I think not using for writing helps me to retain something inherently human about my process and exercises the brain which is good for its longevity. But ewe dew ewe.
Love finding this photo reproduction along with the card my Mom wrote when she sent it to her aunt. #genealogy
Your ancestor's widow might not have been the mother of all his children...or any of of them. That was yesterday's tip #genealogy get the tip in email daily at genealogytipoftheday.com/mailman/list...
I do a quick photograph of vacation pics and leave it at that. I don't scan or preserve them the way I do pictures of people. There's only so much time. #genealogy
One of my complete relatives. This is different from a double first cousin, which is also a "complete" relative. This woman's father, maternal grandfather and maternal grandmother are sibilngs of different ancestors of mine. rootdig.genealogytipoftheday.com?p=9738
#genealogy joke.
Do you have a Valentine relative? Here's mine--John/Johann Valentine Senf...from his 1850 arrival in the US. He went by Valentine. Was in Campell County, Kentucky for a while, then I lose him. #genealogy

Used NotebookLM to make a #genealogy infographic about a relative. But I only used 1902 as the death year and it used 1802 instead. Interesting.
Question: An 18th century Virginian owns approximately 500 acres of property, 10 enslaved individuals, and a mill. Considering his literacy, I would surmise that he's basically literate. I tend to think that we assume fewer people were literate than actually were. #genealogy
