Auch im Regen ist die Stromabnahme über die Oberleitungen ja kein Problem. Also: Wieso ist in diesem Fall das Wasser (flüssig oder gefroren) kein Problem für den Strom?
@florianaigner.at: Darf ich eine Physik-Frage stellen? Als Kind lernt man ja, Wasser und Strom verträgt sich nicht (Föhn in der Badewanne!!!). Jetzt hab ich bei den Temperaturen wieder mal gesehen, wie eine Lok die Oberleitung quasi aufgetaut hat: lautes Knistern und kleine blaue Blitze.

Sehr spannende Daten. Wobei der große Niedergang der Textilindustrie vermutlich schon vor 1988 war, oder?
Y-Achse bei 0 ist bei Balken- oder Säulendiagrammen Pflicht, da der Wert über die Länge kodiert wird. Bei Liniendiagrammen geht’s über den Winkel zwischen den Datenpunkten, da gibt’s Spielraum. Der Falter wählt ihn natürlich so, dass es gut ausschaut, ist aber nicht per se falsch. :)

Wieso ist blau "verträglicher"? Wird eigentlich immer assoziativ für kalt/nass verwendet, oder? Also ich hab auf den ersten Blick gedacht, ah, vermutlich eine kühle Nacht im Osten heute. 😅

Arrived in Zurich with a bit of time to stroll around the station—and what a station Zurich HB is!
A TGV Lyria was provided as a replacement—though, unfortunately, it’s hopelessly overcrowded. Not exactly the seamless Swiss train experience I had in mind. Still, the main concern now is making my connection in Zurich.
What a fantastic weekend in Basel—drifting in the Rhine was the perfect way to beat the heat. My IC 787 to Zurich was unfortunately cancelled due to construction work, but it gave me the unexpected chance to chat with the famously friendly Swiss railway staff.
A brief stop in Saint Louis before continuing on to Basel SBB. I’ve never heard train staff apologize so often—for being just five minutes late!
Leaving Paris behind on the 07:21 TGV Lyria to Basel. It’s a pity I had so little time to explore Gare de Lyon.
The @economist.com‘s consumer survey definitely stands out compared to others I’ve taken in the past.
Arrived at Gare de l’Est with almost the exact delay we started with in Vienna. I’ll be exploring Paris over the next few days before continuing on to Switzerland.
