Then onto Direct Rail Services Crewe Gresty Bridge, with Pioneer Class 68, 68001 and 88005 viewable through the fence.
First post of 2026, and my first sighting of the year also.
Chiltern Railways Mk 5A Driving Trailer, 12805 part of set CH05, brings up the rear of the consist heading out of Banbury via Platform 1 heading to Stourbridge Junction as 5Q68.

First up, London Northwestern Railway Class 350/1 Desiro, 350103 from Bletchley - London Euston.
A couple of GBRf Class 66’s from earlier this evening passing Banbury Reservoir:
Cemex liveried 66780 working the 6X01 Scunthorpe - Eastleigh, then 66314 on the 4O32 Hamms Hall - Southampton.
66314 being the penultimate UK Class 66 I need to see, only required 66316 now.
Some freight at Nortoft Lane this evening, GBRf 66703 on the Garston - Dagenham, DRS 66428 working the DIRFT - Wentloog, GBRf 66739 working Dagenham - Mossend, and Freightliner 90010 & 90039 working DIRFT - Mossend
Couple of Stagecoach livery variations in Banbury this morning.
New arrival to Banbury (from Stagecoach West), Enviro400 15976 in Stagecoach Pride livery working the B9.
Then Stagecoach Midlands Enviro200 37058 in new “we’ve got you” blue livery working 77A to Leamington.
This weeks transfer of CAF Mk 5 stock from Longsight - Eastleigh (5Q86) for Chiltern, Set CH10 with 68030 passing Banbury earlier this evening.
A quick trip this afternoon to the over bridge at Banbury Reservoir, caught GBRf 66791
In Heidelberg Materials livery on the Scunthorpe -
Eastleigh.
Then Romic 20205 & 20007 with RES 47715 from Alstom Derby - Princess Risborough.
A quick trip out to Banbury Reservoir Junction over bridge, to catch Freightliner 66570 on the Leeds - Southampton,
GBRf 66705 arriving with the Tunstead - Banbury,
and the main event ROG operated 68022 and Mk 5 set TP13 with the Longsight - Eastleigh, for future use for Chiltern.
On this day, 14th August 2020, Greater Anglia Stadler Flirt 755402stands at Sheringham, with a service to Norwich
On this day, 13th August 2020, GBRf 66725 “Sunderland” passes Peterborough with a loaded sand train from Middleton Towers.
On this day, 11th August 2021, 08238 Charlie, stands in the sidings at Lydney Junction on the Dean Forest Railway.
On this day, 10th August 2012, Greater Anglia 90014 heads through Stratford on the rear of a Norwich bound service.
On this day, 9th August 2019, Freightliner 66516 stands behind Banbury station with a loaded train to Southampton.

On this day, 6th August 2021, EMR Connect Class 360, 360117, still showing remains of its original Greater Anglia livery, heads south through Wellingborough with a train to St. Pancras.
On this day, 5th August 2021, Royal Mail 325007 powers through Crewe with a service to Wembley.
Another brief hour at Nortoft Lane this evening, Freightliner 66519 (4M03) & 66563 (4L42), DRS 88008 (4S45) and LNWR 350410 (1Y59) pictured.
Far too many pictures taken on Friday at The Greatest Gathering at Alstom Litchurch Lane in Derby.
Amazing event, so many exhibits and so many people, alas only had a ticket for one day, could have done with another day at least.
Fantastic to see so much love for the railway by so many people.

Final train of the day to Fellbach on the Stuttgart S-Bahn, 430026 last up for haulage.
Amazing journey even with the delay!
Penultimate train Arverio ET6.11 from Karlshule to Stuttgart Hbf, arrived here nearly 4 hours later than planned, down to the S-Bahn I go for the final leg.
Next up SNCF TGV inOui 4714 from Paris Gare de l’Est to Stuttgart.
Alas heavily delayed, 1 hour out of Paris, and terminated at Karlshule over
161 minutes late, due to issues in front of us.
Now trying to find a RE train to Stuttgart.
