Sorry, but since when is "wearing Islamic robes" and having gatherings in the garden a crime? This article essentially conflates being devout with being a terrorist, this is really problematic @theguardian.com, sort it out

BREAKING: Yuval Abraham, co-director of Oscar-winning documentary "No Other Land," says Israeli settlers beat his co-director Hamdan Ballal, injuring his head and stomach β and then Israeli soldiers invaded the ambulance he was in and seized him.
Ballal's whereabouts are now unknown.

Absolutely horrifying and heartbreaking.
This is what this country does to people fleeing persecution now. Literally leaving them to rot. I just can't. ππ

A horrific case, raising more serious questions about the companies running asylum accommodation.
Why are these companies allowed to keep extracting huge profits from services whilst failing in their duty of care and presiding over a litany of failings?
As explained in article below, rather than combatting exploitation, immigration raids actually increase the precarity of people's positions, and can lead to greater levels of trafficking. Labour's latest push on raids is counterproductive, and puts people at more risk.

Thank you, Sheffield Jews Against Israeli Apartheid.
"to focus exclusively on its impact on Jewish people and the eradication of Jewish communities, without learning from what it has in common with other racial persecutions and genocides, diminishes the universal significance of the Holocaust"
Israel is back pedalling on the ceasefire deal it signed but not in the mass killings of Palestinian civilians. By not reining in Netanyahu, his US-EU sponsors are accelerating the West's loss of credibility & soft power everywhere www.theguardian.com/world/live/2...
Now that a ceasefire has been agreed to in Gaza, the bombs will stop falling, and the world will breathe a sigh of relief. Yet, for those of us who survived, the war hasnβt endedβit has merely transformed.

Israel is blocking the UN from investigating claims of sexual violence on October 7 because theyβre worried it might lead to an investigation into all the sexual violence the IDF is currently inflicting on Palestinians they kidnapped from Gaza.
This gang of sex abusers preyed on young children in Walsall, and got away with it for years. What could possibly explain the failure by Nigel Farage, Elon Musk and the Tories to call for a public inquiry about it?
Damascus has been liberated. Syria is free of the Assad regime.
I canβt process anything.
After 54 years of the Assad family holding Syrians hostage - we are free.
Ibrahima Bah is a teenage asylum seeker from Senegal who is being imprisoned in the UK. In December 2022, he was steering a dinghy that broke apart in the Channel. Very sadly, four people drowned, and five are still 'missing at sea'.
Amnesty Internationalβs new landmark report concludes that Israeli authorities have committed β and still are committing - genocide against Palestinians in the occupied Gaza Strip.
You stop exploitation of migrants by targeting the exploitation not the migration. That means minimum wage and labour market enforcement & giving migrants rights so theyβre not scared to report employers.
Otherwise youβre just helping shitty employers scare their workers into keeping quiet.
π₯ Why is the ICC ruling so important?
Because all members of the ICC are now obliged to arrest Netanyahu if he sets foot on their soil.
Those countries include UK, France, Italy, Germany, Poland, Canada, Australia, NZ⦠over 120 nations.
In βthe Westβ itβs only the US which is the exception.
βThis is a watershed event in the history of international justice. The ICC has never, in over 21 years, indicted a pro-Western official. Indeed, no international court since World War II has done so."

Stop e-Visas: Stop the e-Visa scheme, and provide emergency alternatives or extend the use of expired BRPs. Allow both physical and digital proof of the right to be in the UK. Consult with civil society about a new scheme. Ensure that any future e-Visa system works offline so that people can always prove their rights
The e-Visa scheme could create a digital Windrush scandal.
By the end of 2024, proof of the right to be in the UK will be fully digitalised.
Up to 4 million migrants will be at risk of being unable to prove their status offline.
The Home Office must follow the recommendations in our report.
Jeremy Clarkson, James Dyson, the Earl of Derby β theyβre up in arms about paying tax on the vast areas of land they own.
Small farmers are worried that changes to Agricultural Property Relief (APR) will affect them. But who are the big landowners complaining the loudest? Thread: 1/
With farm owners protesting today over the prospect of paying a highly discounted inheritence tax, I'm sure you've seen quotes about how they "feed the nation".
But nobody is talking about the migrant workers who actually pick the crops on horticulture farms, so here's a short thread about them.
