A sketch of Usagi Yojimbo smiling.
I like when Stan Sakai draws Usagi with the happy little dot eyes best.

Panel 1: Shen is standing in a complicated machine, having seemingly just appeared inside it with sparks of green electricity. His clothes billow as he yells "AAA!! WHERE AM I??" Panel 2: A serious looking, realistically drawn scientist begins to, with furrowed brow and intense shading, seriously explain: "It is the year 2155. We brought someone from the past who has an attention span of more than 6 seconds to" Panel 3: The scientist is suddenly very simply/cutely drawn, now having raised his phone to his face and happily looking at it. Panel 4: Shen raises his hands in a confused gesture and frustratedly says "YOU GUYS BUILT A TIME MACHINE IN 6 SECOND INTERVALS??"

YES Dungeons of DUSK is coming to mobile and
YES it really plays like this
Pretty sure they level up insanely fast and easily due to stat retention
If you haven't yet and enjoy both anime, you should really check out the Trigun & Trigun Maximum manga even if only academically to see how some elements were adapted, avoided, or outright changed. The central conceit of all three works are the same but so much is handled differently.
He might be more of an idealist than OG anime Vash as he actually finds success in reaching the unreachable with his enemies. I wouldn't call it Surf Dracula because that's not how it works here. It's a third interpretation of Vash and as equally viable as the other two despite being its own thing.
I think you're more after the former rather than the latter here. Stampede started a certain way because it's going to end a certain way and the Vash presented here is less competent and more vulnerable as a character. The Eriks stuff lasted longer this time than either the OG show or Maximum too.
I think you're reaching for an interpretation of a character that isn't present in this adaptation.
I'd come back to that in a few episodes since the last run should squarely be in "Only Vash can do this" territory.
What now? it's starting to follow Maximum pretty closely in the last stretch
