Small green and blue handless mugs with abstract design that sit in the hand. Some also vivid red mark-making. My hand-made, hand-painted ceramic pieces on display at The Ceramics’ Studio, Ettington as part of Open Studios on 13th and 14th December.

It took me eight months to make these because of life’s challenges and not being able to get to the Ceramics’ Studio studio in Ettington. I finally them decorated last week and they will be in Open Studios - Sat 13th and 14th Dec. Two floors of ceramics by members and our tutors, Gaye and Leyla.

Images from sketchbooks, closed, including closed eye contour drawing, colour and mark-making experiments. Also some images contain collaged pieces.

My creative year has mostly been about exploring and experimenting in my sketchbooks. Over the summer I started to make my own collage papers, and I played around with different tools and materials. Its all kept me in a creative flow, even when life was challenging.

Our new artist-in-residence @joannacampbell.bsky.social won NFFD’s novella-in-flash comp in 2022 with her NIF ‘Sybilla’. She also designed its stunning cover. If you would like to WIN a FREE copy & live in the UK, please comment in the link below & we’ll draw 2 names out of a hat on 18 Dec.
